VSpec's N16 DCi

Hi all,

Woo hoo finally get my dream, after owning 5 other n16s this is going to be the final 1 (I hope lol)! Just picked her up yesterday 2004 Almera 3dr SVE 136ps DCi & had to give it a damn good clean this morning, was sat under a tree for some weeks. A real bargain, offered the dude £750, his reply was if I could up it to a grand, (damn right I was going to go for it, even if it didnt have an engine I'd have it lol). Can't complain chuffed to bits with it!! Paint just alil rough in places but namly just low body like under door strips general wear I guess nothing major, no signs of rust except 2 lil stone chips on the roof, had part history to! I believe a very well kept car pulls strong (stronger then 05). & mpg is spoton unlike my 05 for some reason.

I was always hesitant to mod my 05 mera as I felt there was alot of value in it & it's just too new to mess around with, & Mainly I was never content in having 2 extra doors but now I'v got all the justificaction I need, as this has done 90k so it needs to get treated, & I'll have a spare 2 grand to play with. :)

Before any 1 points out the passenger side bumb strip is in the boot, guy advised 1 day direct sunlight hit it & it was on the floor lol. Need to get spoiler on there soon as, might just swap with my 05 just looks bare!

The spec is the same as my 05 mera has the full works like sunroof, parking sensors, elec mirrors etc. only diffrence I can tell is the grey interior instead of black. What's the diffrence between SVE models & SXE just the interior..? Cars reg ends with SVE too lol!
 
£750?!! Wow BARgain.

Theres a model comparison thread...

But the SVE doesn't have skirts, spoiler or exhaust tip. The SXE only comes in top spec engines while the SVE you can get in everything including 112 dci and 1.5 petrol.

Cheers mate, no not 750, we agreed on a grand, but when I got there I did some sweet talk so he knocked £40 off ;) £960 it cost me!! Never thought I'd catch you out not reading ;) .

Sorry I didn't check the threads as I wasent sure they've been renamed yet, the brake link you sent on page 3 still doesn't seem to work either, wanted to know how to treat the brakes & help stop further rusting.

Just a small update, Rims swapped over, spoiler, Smoked side indicators & Finally got a chance to spray the bumper Matt (right botch job).

I have to say, the bumper doesn't look half as bad as I was expecting it to.

Grille on the other hand...

I May need to borrow yours if it isnt sold to James already need to see if it will sit right. Otherwise I may Try an R33 Grill see how that sits & looks.

Edit: My bonnet is ZT (Z-Tune) not a KR lol.
 
KR = Knight Racer....

You need an N16 grille really to match the bonnet you are buying. An R33 one won't line up right. Easier to mod the bumper to fit the grille than mod a bonnet to fit a grille.

Just received the rear n16 braided brake line hoses from HEL, there same as the ones I've already got off eBay for the s13 won them for 99p. :)

Going to return them unless some one wants to buy them here. If not I'll ask for a £10 refund as there going to make the clutch line for £25 once they receive it from you Ed :) .
