96 Silver Autech GTi

Some pictures from today. Ive been working on it for a few hours each day for about 10days now.

Major work thats taken place:

New dampers with OE GTi springs
New front caliper seals
New front pads
Front calipers repainted
New rear pads
Rear calipers repainted

New wishbones
New steering arms
New rose jointed track rod ends
New drop links

ARB removed and repainted
ARB bushes regreased
ARB drop link bushes regreased

Front & Rear arches ground back to bare metal, kurusted and primed
Skirt mounting holes ground back, kurusted, primed and will be filled when I get more sandpaper

Rear end kurusted, primed and undersealed
Inside rear arches kurusted and undersealed

Alloys resprayed

421 Manifold wrapped and fitted. Same size downpipe as standard, primaries are 5mm bigger in diameter though

Which car looks like its being broken for spares? Its hard to tell.

I want my rear end hammerited

I would recommend every member removes the rear bumper to check whats going on, the black in the picture is basically where the rust was creeping up.

Cheers for the comments guys, I hope its worth it in the end, I am absolutely shattered, old spring clamps were a pain in the arse today.

Yep a long over due proper clean up is definately needed!

Though it looks like they snapped, its actually not. 2 studs came out as I was unscrewing the nuts!
