Almera GX 5 door

I wouldn't bother trying to buy off the shelf exhausts for the almera..
Any exhaust place can make you a custom stainless exhaust and you can specify diameter and how you want it to look. They usually price in at roughly £200-£300.
Also, if you don't wanna spend that much.. You could buy a standard GTi catback pipe (also called midpipe/mid section) they are cheap (I can't remember how much exactly, but try - www.buypartsby.com). They make a good upgrade for 1.4/1.6 models as they are a larger diameter.. That way you can use GTi backboxes also.. A few companies make them, or you can get a custom one made, they usually price in at roughly £100-£150.
With a GTi catback and a better back box you'll have a MUCH nicer sound, and to further enhance it you could fit a decat pipe, you can get these used for £30ish off here :)

Then your car will sound mint for under £200!

Will the GTI midsection bolt straight on i dont fancy spendig £300 on a system when i can by 1 for £150 if a Aftermarket system for a GTI will fit. But the midsection sounds like a good idea because i have a straight through backbox somewher at home

Good stuff iv got a universall rage back box at home the guy who i take my car is pretty good at getting them on. I got it off my m8 who had it on his Celica and he managed to get it on my fiesta lol. Only £55 of that link you posted for the midsection i think shame it aint stainless

You could take that rage backbox to an exhaust place and get them to weld a pipe and flange onto it so you can bolt it neatly to the GTi catback :)
That'd work perfectly.

Thats the plan m8 if he can fit it on a celica or fiesta im sure he could do it on an almera. Will i notice a performance increase with that? Arches sorted and some alloys it will be pretty decent for now till i have more money lol.

Na thinking of reading up on doing a junkyard turbo conversion buying the parts as and when i can afford it. Gonna do my research proper first tho and take my time. Looking at it taking around 6 months of researching and designing while buying the parts inbetween.

I was gonna do a thread on it put this site wouldnt let me for some reason its only an idea atm. Gonna get a book called maximum boost and read that see if i think i can do it. Been told it aint as hard as you would think definatly not gonna rush it though. Is Dale the guy who did the white SI?

yeah, if you were a member there is a thread of how to turbo the 1.4 and 1.6 almera, listing pretty much everything you need,

i'm considering it myself tbh, either that or buy a starlet GTT

I need boost in my life

Nahhhh SR20 swap, then turbo that ;)

I was gonna turbo my GA16, but it was burning oil and needed replacing.. And I got offered an SR20 cheap, so I'm going that route instead :)

Yeah prob gonna become a member when iget paid tbh but its gonna be a longterm project tho i aint in a rush to break my car lol

Does any1 know of anywhere that you can buy a ready made kit i looked on ebay and tere was loads from america for hondas. But none for the GA16de i know hotshot did one but there closed now.

I did find one site offering it.. This was last year sometime though.. It was something like $2500 or something silly though..

Its a lot easier to gather universal parts such as the Turbo, intercooler, pipework, dump valve etc second hand from on here or ebay, then you've gotta get a custom manifold to suit your engine and turbo and custom exhaust fabricated and you've pretty much made your own turbo kit, often for a fraction of the price.

Then you've gotta sort out water/oil feeds and make some fuelling upgrades, get the car mapped and you're away.

Yeah seen thecustom kits on ebay seen 1 of the astra diesels at scrappers they are intercooled may get the parts off that I have no mechanical knowledge tho altogh i am an it technician so im no idiot. Plus i have done a few watercooling systems lmao
