Almera owner at last. my 5dr SRi

I wouldnt be so sure, good GTis aren't that easy to come by these days, and they arent cheap when they do crop up. So £200's worth of engine and £100 of bodykit and paint doesnt seem like that much.

Just seen white biscuits thread people charge like £80 for skirts and even more for the bumpers. Exhausts are expensive, manifolds even more so. Then it'd need front KYB's, springs. + Labour costs. My dad could do it, but hasn't anywhere couldn't expect that free.

Ha, depends who's buying/selling, I got skirts for £30-40, got skirts with rear bumper and splitter for £60 off Rich. If you gave me £400 I'd break my GTi up and do the engine swap for you together with bodykit.

here is my run down.

car. 1350
p2 skirts. 40
p2 rear splitter. 20
p2 front splitter. 30
exhaust. 75
header. 85
filter. 30

honestly mate its more rewarding to build it up yourself than just buy it. joe will agree ;)

make another stupid hot stupid fast 5 door man! you know you wanna!

ongoing project mate, if its clean id be keeping it fo sho'. we've even seen the last model V plate gti's in a mess... think on...

Clean? Roof needs a respray, i.e all the shell does otherwise it looks shit with new paint merging in to old faded paint. Could do with a new bonnet too, maybe even wing and drivers door. It's an exciting idea but i've got too many reservations.

I'll have to ponder this. Few options available. Hmmmm.

1-Corbs £400 tricked up 5 door
2- Buy a GTi
3- Buy a GT because they're prettier but too big.

1st years NCB in March Simcard so that might be the way forward. I know my 5 door could look awesome done properly though.

If insurrence is not much more go for the GTI, i mean i only modded my puny Peugeot 206 1.4 the way i did beacuse i simply couldnt get a faster car at that time was £1500 extra for a gti.. now if i wana get a GTI its £120 one of payment

Then theres the how much have u sunk into your current car? does it have anything special?

If not really to the above it makes the transition less painfull and untilatly less looking back and more fuck me ive got a GTI

Up to you man

depends on what your after, i think you would prefer to get something ready made and leave it as it is, in which case a GT or GTi would be the best option, id go for the GTi personally.

if you want something unique that will gain you respect and teach you a lot then build a 5 door GTi, but if your not interested in getting your hands dirty, or your going to count every last penny and compare it to the cost of a GTi, then thats not going to work, it would be a cool car though and its a good comprimise between the GT and GTi.

If the roof is the only thing wrong with your car, then you will not find a GTi thats in better condition for under £1200 IMO.

Here are some pictures I took today after a relaxing drive. The camera was on my shitty LG phone so the qualities not very good; neither is the rushed numberplate cover ups.

On the close up of the right front wheel also, you can see the first sign of wheel arch rust emerging. Also possible I put the wiper arms on the wrong way around lol.

Personally I think she looks BANG ON HOT.
