Looks really nice mate, love the rocker cover, going to get mine powercoated gun metal grey and paint the letters black.

when i had my GTi i took the foglight out and fed the cold air feed off the induciton kit through the hole, since you dont have fogs you could always cut a hole in the blank and feed it down there like acouple of people have on here!

It's looking good though! really glad to see more people tuning the GA engines!
 
Yeah thats what mine was like! i bought a metal end for it from my local boyracer shop to go on the end:

Some simple things which would look really good would be white door handles (Just remove and spray them) and clear side repeaters (ebay). Engine bay looks clean as mate, good job!

They come on the new Micra's and Primera's too. Might pinch my dads if he decides to sell his :P

Still a few things left, just waiting on stuff mainly.
I went to sort the custom manifold out yesterday. The exhaust flange and turbo exhaust flange is being cut this week, and then once thats done he's going to make the manifold up.

It being made by 'Ashley competition Exhausts' from mild steel so i could do with getting it heat treated with a ceramic coating.
Ive got myself an aluminium T- peice for fitting the diverter (dump) valve and also got a boost gauge today. Im going to be using a Starlet GT recirculating valve.
Intercooler piping is on order, should arive on friday.
An adjustable fuel pressure regulator is still on order (been waiting nearly 4 weeks).

Things left to order:
Dump pipe and down pipe (probably get done at the same place as the manifold).
Oil fittings (feed and return), there are no coolant lines.
Vacuum/boost fittings
Fuel Pump - going to see how the standard one copes first though.
Apexi SAFC - anyone want to lend me £200? lol
Mapping/setup at my college Rolling Road.

I cant really say what power to expect, see what happens. hoping for 120bhp+
24SEVEN - STi is a nice idea... im debating whether to badge the car up (TSI/STi) or not, and leave it as SI for the element of suprise.
 
Wow, missed this thread totally! good effort mate. Should be a mini rocket when done, what milage has the current engine got? Also if your after a badge i can custom make you a resin badge for a fiver if you wanted to, can make a few designs and send u a pic if ur interested. Like this one.

The engine has done 87K and still running sweet, though i imagine (hope) it should be good for 120k+. Its not ideal, but i have faith in the the lil' Nissan.

Pistons are staying standard, forgies arent needed upto 10psi+ as far as im aware. Seen many ga16turbo's in the USA on satndard internals with 200bhp+ and no problems.
The only weaklink im aware of is the con rods bolts but should be fine for the power figure im after.
As for Gaskets, there will be a new exhaust flange gasket, turbo flange gasket and down pipe gasket. Head gasket isnt being touched, the CR of 9:1 should be fine.
 
Quick update, Intercooler piping arrived today.
Pics on the weekend of new stuff as i havent got the camera at the moment.
Anyone know about ceramic coatings and how much its likely to cost?
