well after stripping it for shakies it uncovered some issues, and as Im one to always put things back together better than when they came apart, I set about fixing the roof cross brace which had come away from the roof skin.
cue lots of Tigerseal and some improvisation
I also removed the plastic from behind the door cards and all the black horrible shitty stuff and put some new thicker plastic with lots of gaffertape, no pics of this but your an imaginative bunch :batman:
next is getting my strut tops welded and seamed
then some wadding to go under the carpets, to quieten things down once the interiors all back in, weighs noubt and will do the job
Not sure about the Tigerseal mate. It tends to draw the panel in over time when its fully cured so you may end up with a bit of a trench on your roof in the near future. Its happened to me on a door skin at work. You may be lucky though.
will be fine, its only pulling the frame up towards the roof, its plenty flexible squidgey.
you mean the sound deadening? took mine out ages ago, a hammer to it on a cold day breaks the bond with the metal and you can pull it all up in large chunks.. with the interior in its plenty quiet.
Ive also filled the rear sections behind the door cards with bubble wrap and then covered all the gaps with gaffer tape that helped an AWFUL lot at reducing road noise
just wire tucked the rear of the car too put all the wires inside the inner arches looks good
I shoved a piece of hose through from back by the lights then taped the plugs to it and pulled it back was pretty painless I just got covered in the underseal Id poured in there haha
tried the rear washer hose too but it was like an inch too short would have been perfect it I could have gotten it into the C pillar
