Autech Pulsar GTi

What a long day!

Had the Dastek unichip installed and mapped today at Aldon Automotive.

We switched to the Almera GTi MAF sensor prior to mapping.

The results are in:

197bhp@6945rpm
165ft-lbs
157whp

Really chuffed with the results, was certainly more than i was hoping for, so im over the moon!

Big thanks to Joe for coming down to witness the action too! The guy on the front desk had me proper worried, me and joe went to get a Maccy's and came back when they had finished..we got there (not knowing the result) the guy on the front desk got straight down to business and started asking what the standard power was...so i try to explain it was an Autech and has 170 standard....im there thinking please let it be more than stock Autech power!!! My heart was in my mouth!

Reception guy: "197 do ya?"

Me: "Fuck yeah!"

hellz yuh :) so the limiter is 7450 ?

I dunno if that is the limiter or whether he just loosed off by that point because the power stopped climbing.

nice one mate! i'd be well happy with those numbers for sure!. how did it feel on the drive home?

Its feels very good to drive, really smooth power delivery. Oh and it sounds and goes pretty good too.

Looking forward to getting it out on track next year.

MINT dude big
what did they say about the engine, running good?

Didnt say much to be fair, although i think they were as suprised as i was.
I think they were expecting near stock Almera Gti figures, so 140-150bhp..haha

Nice one Dale. Just need to find 3hp now :P

Tell me about it....

Thats easy..i'll just run it on a different dyno (they all read different eh?) and magically gain 10bhp.

Theres still a few simple things i can do to the motor,
3" air intake
Lightweight pullies
Thermoblock Spacers
Cam timing adjustment

Will need an adjustable FPR if i want to go any further, the tuner commented how i was running the stock injectors near their maximum duty at times.

Its not bad for an ancient DE though, will do for now.

More than you expected? I was thinking around 170whp for C3's. Sweet Torque figures.

Basically you knock 20whp off everything you've ever read in the US to get a UK figure.

This setup will make 170-180whp over there no doubt.

Im not comparing it to US figures, more in relation to my old setup. That was 152. Obvisously all dynos vary but you have some serious kit in this. Looking forward to seeing it on the track though.

My spec isnt that big at all, and the cylinder head isnt exactly hardcore.

But yeah its all pinch of salt etc, we know these numbers are almost meaningless because we start getting into the finer details and variation etc.

Technically Rowdy and Daves GTi's made more whp power than mine on different dyno's.

On this dyno though, where both Ian and Dave have run, they made 180 and 176 flywheel bhp respectfully.

But then again, looking at WHP, Dave made 136whp and Ian made 149whp here...its all bollocks.

Meh, the main thing is that is mapped and drives good now. Im more concerned about getting it handling well for the track.. beside the fact Joe, Ian and mongo are sure to kick my DE ass soon anyway!

if it feels good on the road thats what counts.. good numbers and a cracking car perfect package.. tis the seasson to be dyno'd!!!

this is exactly how i look at it now

superdans car made more power than mine on a different dyno, but on the same dyno asme about 3 20ve's with 16ve cams only made around 180fly, i'm well happy to have made like 27hp more than 3 20ve's with 16ve cams

this thing is awesome now, looks, build, gawjus engine bay and i'm betting sound too. WANT

well done dale
