Did Someone Mention Volkswagen?

Gotta be honest, mate, I really don't care one way or the other. But I just don't understand why you're posting this on an Almera forum - and then getting upset about snide remarks?

I wasnt getting upset, i've been on forums far too long to know what people are like. Just think of the image of the forum though, at the end of the day its quite important and we should all be doing our best to keep it as good as it is.

I explained at the start of the thread that i was using this to keep mainly Hopelessness up to date with my new car. It saves him having to sign up to other forums when i'm already on this anyway.
I'm going to sound rude now but if you don't like it, don't read it and then you wont have to make snide remarks.

Thanks

Chris

im sorry but new dubbing is wrong. i know modding is all about individuality and all that, but half the time it just goes pete tong. lad that i used to knock around with a lot is a mega old school dub nut, he has just brought a mk1 pirrelli edition golf gti in dolphin grey with a 2.0 corrado btm end and lumpy as fuck kent cams. add some AC schnitzer E30 wheels and its proper dub. its on my facebook if anyone cares. brightly coloured wheels and getting it rediculously low is beyond me... in my eyes pirelli p slots only suit early 1600 small bumper mk1 gti's..... and yes they did do a 1600 mk1 gti, changed to 1800 after a year or so due to emmisions....

old school dubs are fucking pimp im helping JC up the road form me sort his camper.. makes me want a bug.. id love to have one:D

my gaffer is a bug man, he has a 68 split camper and a 72 bay camper which is getting restored at the moment, along with another bay which he uses now and 2 beetles

this is how i would go Extended front, roof chop, arch less some white wall tyres and paint it matt balck! maybe even try and take the bonnet of and put a V8 in the front with a shitty leaf spring rear welded on :D

its just one of those antifashion things.
while one end of the spectrum wants super clean super smooth the other wants rust.... its all different. You can't say its not a real dub, a dub is whatever you want it to be. If thats sump scrapingly low and garishly coloured then thats fine. If its matt black looks like shit and goes like stink, thats fine too.

Unlike some people i won't stick shit from halfords on my car, a K&N filter and some window tints and a huge back box.... marvellous

yes they did do a 1600 mk1 gti (i'm looking at one for my next car as it happens)

i think the P slots suit and tbh i only have them because i bough them so cheap in the first place, the lupo's not a car unlike the almeras where you can walk into halfords and buy a set of wheels to suit, the lupos a simple looking car so needs something simple to make it work. The bolt ons available look shite so i'm steering clear of them. It's probably the only blue lupo in the world on orange Pslots and to me thats cool.

IMO vw's r overpriced and fall too bits real fast with huge repair and part bills. But if u have money to burn or do all work yourself then hey, whatever.

VW confession 1: Loved thrashing my brothers old 1.6 polo years ago, that was great fun.

VW confession 2: still drive my a friends polo now and again and thats fun too. its the newer 100 bhp one.

VW confession 3: was about to buy a lupo 1.6 yrs ago.

Although we r die hard Nissan fans im sure most of us have a few VW confessions in the closet :knock:

i used to have a 1300 mk2. autochoke was jammed on so it was thirsty but the fucker flew.

boydup y0 - point im trying to make is that due to the 'dub' scene being so big now, its hard to differenciate whats 'dub'....... in my eyes, the quest to be different has ruined the dub scene..... i mean, people actually go to dub shows now with a polo harlequin on ronal turbos and all the new-dubbers go...'yeah yeah man thats awesome'... its not, its gash. give me a mk2 golf rallye with a superchip and a jabbasport stage 2 charger anyday......
