why do you want a solid rear mount? plus why would you need to weld one in, if youre serious about a solid rear mount, assuming the mount cage is true round just get a cylinder of steel oversize 0.05 and it will press in nicely
 
have you had a solid front mount before?

mine was in for all of 3 weeks iirc but i removed it in disgust! they're bloody awful tbh, terrible.

the extra vibrations were ridiculous, polyurethane's plenty good enough and doesn't totally ruin your day every time you get in the car and it shakes your teeth out. So noisy and shaky, seriously man - horrid!
 
Yeah but a solid rear mount will get rid of that extra 0.55777mm of extra torsional movement which Eddie doesnt want when the engine sees under a gear change from 5578 rpm in 3rd gear ;)

Just joking Eddie :biggrin:, the welding on that collector is sweet though, good to learn how to weld though definitely, wish I had bothered to.
 
if you need extra cash eddie, sell 1 or 2 bits to me from this haul

Doesnt matter. it doesnt look like he will be able to lengthen them at all with the piece he has. it gets too close to the bend where it is VERY tight to get a 3" pipe round at the best of times.

waste of effort imo...
 
But it's already a 4-2 then 2-1? That's what i'm confused about. I thought you were going to get a 2.25" mani, then cut it so it goes into a 2.5" mani, a bit like creating the stepped header look. Then somehow make it a 4-1.
 
I just cant help but look back to Cory's finding with his header and the issues he had, then every time he shortened it he gained power everywhere, the same will happen with Dales when he gets round to it
