You've got coilovers so that's a start but as said you're going to need wide wheels or big spacers.

Update 31-07-09

my funny clicking noise has been gradually getting worse over the past 2 weeks, from the start i was adamant that it was the CV joints due to too much stress on them... but read on

was out for a birthday lastnight, took the wife home via my usual 'rag the nuts off it' route (which is out of the way of her house and mine by about 15 miles lol) and the noise gradually got worse and worse.... it didnt bother me, as i sit there in 3rd gear at about 7000rpm, more to the red if im honest, then into 4th thinking to myself ....''its only the cv joints and the engine swap will be taking place sometime soon so fuck it''

decided to pull over for a bit, noise getting that bad you could hear it in the cabin as clear as day, dropping down the gears into 2nd, and omg it sounded like a roulette wheel in a casino (as per usual lol) but this time it was so clear, you could hear EVERY click.

15 to 20 minutes later, started the car and pulled off, this time it wasnt the usual noise, it was more of a high pitched squeel. so, keeping inline with the rule of 'if in doubt... flat out' i horsed it on again not worring about the noise at all. (bearing in mind that this is 2:15am with no means of getting home) so into 2nd, clicking and squeeling like a bitch, into 3rd, this time..... revs bouncing off the limiter. into 4th, limiter again, into 5th limiter again!

the smell of clutch filled the cabin and the smoke piling out from behind the car was insane...needless to say i turned around and made my way home

dropped the wife off and got out, popped the bonnet and even before i opened it i could see smoke in the beam of the head lights. opened the bonnet to be presented with the smell of clutch... or so i thought.

got home and parked up the car in the street. by this time it was half 2 and i wanted to go to bed! i then noticed oil in the street... a long trail of it, so i then poked by head under the car to find that the underside is covered in oil and a puddle of it under the gear box

the burning smell was the oil getting burnt off on the exhaust

what i reckon has happened is that the cv joints at the gearbox have reached there limit and the box has been getting pulled away from the engine resulting in damage to the box.... could the be right?

it looks like it has been leaking from where the box meets the engine.

sump plug is fine, no oil round it
 
What did you get up to in the 15 minutes you'd pulled over, Softcore? A bit of slap and tickle? Or did you dig out the Haynes Manual and read up on Troubleshooting? Perhaps excusable in these circumstances though, TBF...

funny you mention, the haynes book was on the back seat, spotted it when i was erm.....
 
All that lube ;-) hope ya get it sorted m8, cant hav the rat look datsun of the road for too long. . but i hope she was worth it last nite, she go on top? mayb it was too hardcore, the car jus came aswell as u did ;-) but the car is payin the price for the "crisis" (top gear slang for orgasm)
