Help with ga**de to sr20de please

To use the eGT engine & gearbox in your Almera, you will need Almera GTi driveshafts & hubs.

You will also need the o/s eGT drivehshaft as the bearing support is different on the Primera block.

What you need to do then is mix & match the parts from the o/s Primera eGT driveshaft & Almera GTi driveshaft, i.e all Almera GTi parts but with the Primera eGT bearing support.

When it comes to the wiring, you are probably best to get the Almera GTi loom, and then swap the necessary plugs over for the eGT MAF and idle control etc.

I hope you are good with electrics!!!

lol ok mate thanks for the info, got the shafts and hubs (after I pm'd you you gave me the info, cheers again :) ) now its the wiring thats the issue and I think my mechanic mate is gonna splice them, eeek!

regarding the loom, will an almera gti loom work? Will it plug into the primera egt motor and into the existing almera loom??? any help appreciated

bump, anybody know about the above question?? did they use the same loom in the car on all n15's?? somebody must know something. pretty please.

the interior wiring will be the same on all n15's i think which is why the wiring is there for things like fog lights even if there not fitted. whether it will all just be plug and play i dont know, tbh if they didnt both have a nissan badge you would say the p10 and n15 were made by different manufacturers, just about every detail on my n15 is different to the p10 even down to little clips etc so i think the wiring will be different aswell.

ok for those interested the current progress is:

Primera eGT engine was test fitted the other day and two of the mounts lined up and fitted. But the gearbox one doesn't so I'm trying to get the part of the mount that bolts to the chassis from a gti as it looks like this will be an easy fix. Then he is going to take the engine back out, take the inlet manifold off and give it a good clean as it looks a mess (I need a new inlet manifold gasket that I will try to get from Nissan). Have got a new stainless steel manifold and downpipe and also a very cheap induction kit from ebay just to get it up and running (new induction kit will be my first upgrade). He showed me all of the plugs that dont fit for the fuse boxes and ECU and said the confident words of 'we'll get there' yay :D. It looked awesome to see and I will be taking pictures the next time I go down to drop off some bits and pieces.

Oh yeah and while the engine is out I've also got a fidanza 8.5lb flywheel and new exedy clutch to go in :)

progress sounds good you are getting on quicker than me, iv got the sri off the road as of today so will start taking the engine oot of that over the christmass period, the gti engine just needs to be lifted oot of the gti, iv got that bit sorted so for

but want to get the sri engine bay all cleaned up and sprayed before i install the gti lump

also gotta get some bit ordered up, energy engine mount inserts and a ACT clutch and fidanza flywheel soon

i know a few people on here are interested in this so here is my current progress:

intake manifold taken off and cleaned to the best of my ability, gearbox cleaned and sprayed aluminium colour with engine enamel (may possibly do the engine if I get time). Waiting for an inner cv joint and engine mount from a fellow forum user, and waiting for the intake manifold gasket from Nissan, then the engine can go back in and he can start wiring it up. Had a few problems fitting my lightened flywheel on the eGT motor but it is a common problem. Had to get it skimmed to fit over the crank.

Back axle should be going on on Saturday, then I will paint the calipers nice and red. Same on the front, new calipers disks and pads should be going on.

I keep forgetting to get pictures but I will the next time I am there.

p.s. my engine doesn't look as clean as Andrew Smiths thats for sure!

just a quick update from me, I am desperately stuck with the wiring!! got the fsm manuals and both haynes manuals, primera and almera. My mechanic is stumped. What can I do???

the haynes manuals are too basic and the fsm's are poor and don't show us what is what. So we dont know which wires are which and how to wire in the eGT engine :(

well other people that have done it seem to just change the engine loom, but I'm having no luck at all as nothing matches, and nothing is the same in the haynes manuals, its just a big head ache :(

Thats what i mean, if nothing matches, are you not just ripping it ALL out of the primera? As in all the sockets etc.

Keep us all posted on how the conversion goes. I've got d0b0's old gti in my driveway with full running gear, waiting to trade places with my Ga14 (my advantage is full N15 gear, including loom, nats, fobs etcetc so it's literally a straight swap).
