JC#79's Nordic P11 GT LE

Well time to bring an old thread back to life as in a time honoured tradition I like to unveil bits that were carried out prior to JAE just incase in all the fun of the weekend they were missed. Last time was the front bumper splitter mod and 144 bump strips this year the rear and exhaust got the treatment along with some interior jobs that have been waiting to be completed for some time...

So for some time I had been looking for the ideal match for the front bumper and something to alter the rear profile without being too in your face. So the search was on for something to suit the lines of the existing kit and bring the car a fresh and clean look.

Started of with may options for rear splitter but finally chose to go with this one

Someone trying to work out if this would be a direct bolt on or need slight modification

Was decided that this would need more then just bolting on to fit so off came the bumper after it was obvious that the exhaust would need to be brought over more and the angle of the box adjusted

Surface rust had started to attack the towing eye and rear chassis so they were due to be cleaned up and treated while this work was being carried out

Bumper came off and the first part of the now cut splitter fitted which lined up very well to the existing bumper

Now as many now know this was only entering the primer stage Friday morning of JAE and well I was really panicking that we would not get this done in time for me to get along to the show that afternoon

Well we managed to get it painted and fitted for JAE and due to the rush I didn't get to take any pictures on the day so thought I grab a few today after checking the bumper over for any cracks etc after the trip to and from JAE all was good and crack free. We knew on Friday the bumper needed much more work till we would be happy with it but time had beaten us so the splitter seen at JAE is only the beginning and will be fine tuned and I'll update once that work has been carried out.

Also fitted in time for JAE were my P11 Plasma dials however the MPH and fuel gauge were faulty so no nice pictures of them working as I await the replacements from the seller. I also found time to fit my BT-300 to my KIV-700 so I can now enjoy audio from my iPod or iPhone (via bluetooth). I'll throw up some images later but all those additions are behind trim pieces so not much to see.

Thanks for looking I'll update the thread once more bits are completed.

For the speed of the work and how much the splitter had to be cut, combined with the deadline this is an amazing job. I mean I can see where needs improvement, but it really is just finishing now to get the lines and blend right. Hats off to your man, I can appriciate the work and skill that must be needed to pull something like this off

p.s. good choice of splitter it's a good look and quite subtle. Can't wait to see it finished :)

i dont like not 1%
All opinions are welcome any explanation on what about it you don't like?

It doesn't do anything for me. Have you seen the rear of that g20 on their front page? Fit.
I have seen it and the spats work but still it needs something as the lines of the bumper would have suited them being blended in. I guess you either like the blended in look or not I do and it's my car so I'm more then happy with the current progression and as it's only version 1.0 the final one will hopefully be even better once completed now I have seen a few areas it can be improved upon.

Not finished though Dave. So that wobbly profile will be gone and will all be smoothed nicely.

The reflectors need to go and the exhaust cut out needs work. Looks like you hacked it out with a stanley blade. Obviously thats just my opinion and its your car so what you like is what really matters.

The splitter looked good off the car, but its not as good fitted i think its the lack of symetery at the rear and the shape of the exhaust cutout letting it down, a twin exhaust setup with the tips sitting lower so the splitter didnt need to be cut up the way to accomodate it, the splitter has a really nice shape standard but its been lost along the way.

Sorry for my delay in replying to the feedback I asked for I didn't realise there had been so many posts...

Exhaust is sitting slightly higher then planned and the cut out definitely needs work especially as that side of the splitter appears lower on further closer inspection. I like the reflector look it is actually one of the parts I like about the Honduh rear end.

Twin setup was never going to happen and the Primera exhaust can only go over so far without removing the towing eye that is bolted to the rear chassis. I didn't wanna lose the towing eye so the exhaust couldn't go over much more and we took a fair chunk out of the car to move it over that much. The standard shape will be achieved once it's finished as the lines are broken due to the different pieces and how they were assembled. This is all due to be corrected soon and the splitter wasn't cut to accommodate the tips the entire splitter was never going to line up to the shallower 90's P11 bumper after all if you look at the 03-05 Honduh's they have a deeper bumper and the curve is more gradual then the P11.

Looks like it comes from a.....dare I say it...... Honduh!

....phone....
Funnily enough I thought I had to choose something that was close to the front splitter which was from an earlier version of Honduh.

Looks too deep to me.

Nicer here.

That's actually a different rear to the splitter the one I bought was more like this one, which I much prefer to the image you have found ;)

no thats a rear end ^
Why any particular reason???

I love the feedback and there are some very valid points and I always knew it would be a marmite mod I wish time had allowed it to be completed to our satisfaction originally but "c'est la vie" it has given us food for thought and made sure we will get it perfect when completed and hopefully to where it will look like it should have rolled out of the factory as an option (Well for GTT anyway).

Does look great on the honda, but certainly needs a fair amount of work to look right on GTT.

I like it tbh as I said to you at JAE, my only gripe is that the outer section of the bumper after the exhaust tip looks lower than the rest of the splitter....probably just an illusion

....phone....

i think you've been brave to attempt this mod. for me however a P11 is a P11 and so on, mixing nissan parts i feel is ok as manufactures do this also to great effect. mixing completely different manufactures parts together, 95% of the time look odd to me.
