The cheap repair plates I had welded on either side ages ago have now rotted out behind (It's not obvious from the pic but I have hammered the plate in as everything it is welded to is now the texture of cheese) - it's the same story on the other side, the boot floor has gone through, as has the rear quarter, the arches, under the rear lights (The result of a water leak). The rear quarters are still rattlecanned, yadda yadda yadda. So it's time to cut the losses as this was always a cheap car.
My only regret is that I didn't paint and fit the VZR skirts last year and enjoy the car 'complete' as it were.
My favourite car since my first SRi. She'll be back in some form one day, I'm sure.
Yeah the final cost of the car (Minus MOT fees and tax/insurance) including all repairs, what I'd bought and sold, came to £960. Not bad for a car that lasted me over 2 years and 40,000 miles, and an engine conversion!
