hey just a little update, i now have some pro race 2 alloys 16" and a 2 slat grill, needs a clean now though after the last meet!

having a slight problem with my steering where im ending up wrestling with the steering wheel, i was holding the wheel so tight my hands went red just trying to control the damn car, my shock is leaking on the front drivers side and my top mount is fooked on the passenger side, but just because of these problems surely it would be this bad?

anyone know what the problem could be with my steering, i hate driving it at the moment! :(
 
Check the power steering fluid, it can be a common problem that the pipes to the PAS cooling pipe behind the bumper perish and split.

its not stiff, it definately tries to turn away from a straight line position.

new pipes then i guess? ill go have a look at the level of the fluid now, bear with me :D

whenever i go over quite major bumps slow or quickly depending on what direction the bump wants to take the wheel you can hear a knocking nose coming from the passenger side front, i had the same problem in my old peugeot 309 so im pretty sure its the top mount thats buggered :(

i have checked the power steering fluid (the black container on the left i hope?? just above the fuse box) and it is full, on the the little stick attached to the cap its full to the top of the stick.

i hope ive just checked the right thing lol

thanks rob but im waiting for phil to recieve his coilys as im buying his front shocks and lowering springs off him, this home delivery service is pissing me off lol, cuz as soon as he gets the coils i can get new fron shocks and lowering springs!! arggghhhh

TBH i dont know what i would be looking for? my power steering belt squeaks when on idle, not all the time i might add, it hasnt made the squeak noises recently, but it i do hear it ocassionally, ill ask monka to have a look when he can next as he will know what to look for.

a problem with the PAS pump sounds expensive :(
 
Has it the PAS belt snapped and fallen off I mean?

There's probably going to be spare PAS pumps around, shouldnt be a problem to sort.

no still there, it needs replacing as its a bit worn and shabby but its definately there still :confused:

nah no noises on right or left turns, just on idle (the steering wheel can be in any position) and the belt will suddenly start squeaking quite loudly, but if you give it a few revs the noise goes away until the revs drop down to idle again :confused:
 
The bit on the ends of the rods that turn your wheels :P. They have rubber in them that car wear over time and go sloppy.
