My N15 5-door GTi Build...

When i put my catback from my first sri onto my 2nd lowered sri, it clipped the axle. Ive just put coilovers on my pulsar and it doesnt clip the axle. Think the system was made when it was about 35mm lowered at the back. You seriously cant put it beneath the axle? If the axle moves down then your exhaust will come off, it'll definately hit the axle more often underneath

Under the axle wont work. You'd have to remove the exhaust if you were to jack it up and remove a strut. The exhaust is attached to the body, so when the body goes up and the beam stays down, the exhaust would just whack into the underside of the beam.

Would .25" difference in the diameter of a pipe really make any difference to how it fits? You need one that is bent properly for the height yours is.

Its not about the bend FFS...
There's just not enough room between the axle and the underside of the car for the exhaust.
Raceworx's saloon was pretty high in comparison to mine.. He had 17's on too remember, so it may have looked lower than it actually was.

Its just, with it being the height it is, there's only just enough room for the 2.5" pipe to fit in the gap above the axle..
When the suspension goes down you can hear it getting squashed almost!
Joe

So there must be about an inch clearance either side between body and rear beam according to this. Your suspension doesnt travel far does it as its on coilys...
So, how are you going to get it so that it doesnt hit the axle when the body rebounds up and doesnt scrape on the floor?
Or what about if you jack it up by the body?
I think you need to get the car over an inspection pit (Not on 4 posts) and have a good look at the clearance when its on the floor.

I've had it on ramps loads when my mate's being doing my tracking..
TRUST me here, there's about 10 mm above the pipe and about 5mm below the pipe clearance.
The only way to possibly make it clear is to route the piping about 2" further towards the middle of the car, where there's a slightly bigger gap above.
Joe

where it goes over the axle is it parellel to the body ir is it one big bend, having a small straight section above would aid clearance im sure

if you run it under the axle and get airborne at any time it will most likely rip the exhaust off the hangers when the beam pushes down on the exhaust.

even when you jack the car up.

ye but if you were to change the suspension or anything you would have to jack it up somewhere else then you would have to remove the exhaust coz the rear beam would drop onto the exhaust

Not really, If he had incredibly hard springs on his coilovers, when he jacks the car up the beam won't move at all.

ye but if he was to take the suspension off for some reason like to replace a spring or anything the it would drop onto the exhaust

It would, but it's not hard to put something under the beam to hold it up for afew mins while you work on it.

I don't know what kind of problems you would come across from day to day having it under the beam...never seen it done on a N15/B14. It's worth ago.

does sims 3" hit the beam at all? my 2.5" never touched anything when it was on coilovers......

Simmo's 3" don't look much bigger than mine though, if anything at all.. I thought his was a 2.5" when I was looking at it at JAE.
I dunno if mine is 2.5" Inner Diameter or what, its huge though..
Joe

How rude! Until you take it off you cant really grasp how fooking large the pipework is. Mine doesn't know in the slightest, done proper you see! And i've even lowered the car some more since then and still no knock!

However, its very very tight up there
