My SRi 'Nymo' - New pics

Now this is just to show off my new bootlid I literally just had fitted!

What do you think? I chose to keep the wiper from advice from many different people, and same story for the lock (Getting in if the worst happens). I'm so glad it's finally here.
Thanks mainly to Alex1 for the lid, Wilksy for the bumper and Andrew Smith for the advice! And everyone else who helped me decide what I wanted!

Was going to add it could do with a clean :lol:

Bumper and mirrors are probably best just replaced with newer ones rather than repairing them, probably more cost effective too as they both look beyond repair. Try some local scrap yards if you know of any or part sites on the internet or even the for sale section here as someone may have the bits you need.
 
Indeed it is sad, I'm so desperate to get all this done.
Any tips on what to do about the rust though? drill it out and fill maybe? would need a respray... grrr
 
^^^^source a new one. i think to do it properly you'd need to weld a plate in behind it then filler etc over the top, thats after clearing away all the rust (someone correct me if im wrong)
 
right i got 2 mirros just the bit thet u screw on to the base plate u want them they are in green only problem
 
ive got a red one complete on the bay its only at 10 pound so theres one very cheap

also got a gti boot lid if it would fit
and a drivers front wing will all need to br sprayed though
 
Hey BigMac, how much would you consider parting with the boot lid for?
EDIT: Just took this pic, £10 later and she ain't pretty but she's legal...

Gonna replace the bumper when I can afford a new one.
 
shoulda just bought a roll of gaffer tape it it was just gonna be temp. would have fized your bumper, covered the rust and coulda stuck a bit of mirror in with it too. woulda only cost u about £2.50 lol
 
You just GOTTA love it when you take apart the rear fogs to fix the left-hand light, to find out that there ISNT a left hand light! DOH.
 
Ive never seen a mere in worse condition i do hope you sort it out its a shame! Most bits you need aint that expensive!
 
Hehe, yeah that was a cheeky addition because I know they aren't exactly loved here! But the grille should look as it does in the photoshop when it's finished. For the rust on the back I was thinking of cutting it out to the metal, then sanding, followed by hammerite to stop the spread, on top of which fit a plate behind, fill it with bodyfiller, then prime and spray the area (Going to mask it off around the wiper as it is relatively small and hopefully will not be as noticeable on a black car).
 
nice to see the car is getting sorted out, i like the look of it in the picture and if you do want a bonnet scoop then let me know as iv got a few.
 
Cheers, but that would only happen if I got a turbo and top-mounted intercooler or something, which definately won't happen for a while, if at all! Just wondered what it would look like.
Today my new left hand sun visor arrived thanks to alex1! My old left hand one was eaten by the dogs when they were left in the car overnight.... Then the garage installed a right hand one upside down claiming that left handers were unavailable, and my stepmum believed them! Ah well.
Sooo it looks way neater now!

well done mate! keep up the good work, i saw your post when you got the car and it was in an awful state, nice to see you making some progress! keep us updated!
