N16 DCi-R

I know that lol, but you didn't click the link... ;)
V-Spec we know about the 2jr upgrade but we found the issue and looked for a locally sourced option to avoid import costs and delays. Hence finding these testing them and posting up. It's a shame 2jr didn't advise all those with these of the issue when they found out but ours are as strong if not more so and a fraction of the 2jr listed price with free delivery and sent out following or same day.

I know you knew about it, that was meant to Ed. :)

Heck you was about to buy my standard 1, great find tho lads. Screw you 2j... :P
Ed also knew as when mine failed he was the first to know so he could check his & found play and so we started the search.

Yeah the standard ones just were not upto the job so was glad to find these ones and at such a price etc. Also replacement price for a full set both sides comes to a great saving on part & shipping charges etc.

Rose joints are an expendable item unfortunately, they will never last forever.

True, but the setup before with the 2JR joints and boots they were only lasting a couple of months. At least this new stuff should last longer, and that's what we're trying to do just make it last as long as possible.

As usual epic picture you've caught right there bud, sorry we had to shoot off earlyish on Sunday as so wanted some shots of the cars together.

At Japfest 2. A few changes happening/happened.

Have some SSR TypeC wheels which will soon has NS2R tyres on mainly for track use. Should be good for the Shoot Out in October too. Wheels are a bit ropey looks wise and will get a blast of spray paint just to look presentable for JAE.

Had some damage to the bumper thanks to a big hidden dip in the road, took a chunk of bumper out and cracked the splitter. I've since lost the splitter as it broke up, and the bumper needs repairs anyway, so I'm altering the look slightly and rebuilding some of the lower part using a 2000 Accord TypeR lip and the splitter will now go the full width of the car. Hoping to be finished in time for JAE.

Thought you would have been treating us to a huge list after months of silence! ;)
I'm afraid no such luck. Nothing done to the car since it was put back on the road, and I've actually neglected it a lot, as well as still having those teething problems with the drive shafts (or something that's causing a clicking when turning under load... even with new CV joints).

It could be worn bearings in upper mounting of McPherson column.

P.S. I got package from 2JR with BS kit... heim bearings thread looks like someone cut them off in half :/ With counter nut only about 12-15mm goes into the rod IMHO it's not safe. edk does your looks like them?

It's not the right round for the bearings. It's an oscillating grinding/knocking when turning so is CV related (new outer CVs and new wheel bearings).

I upgraded mine, put on some sealed and stronger versions (only on previous page http://www.almeraownersclub.com/threads/n16-dci-r.21741/page-169#post-716569)

I already purchased new ones from other supplier to replace those which came form 2JR. I just don't get it why they cut them away??? It's idiotic... and harm safety - when only about 10mm is screwed in.
Have you got any clearance issues with that longer ones that you source from McGill, is it enough room?

Heim came in state like this :( I'm gonna write to them about that not funny joke...
