N16 R34 Bumper Mod

I've seen cars drive at lesser speeds in to concreate blocks, but I didn't like the look, so I think I'll pass on that 1 :) .

Word of advice to you, if you want this bumper on and good, budget for £1000 and get a pro to sort it with fibreglass. I kinda wish I had at the end of the day.

R34 xenon headlights arrived few weeks back paid a whoping £700+ after customs etc :( , which means the more serious & sensible mods Act & fly are on hold for a while. A real big thanks to Liam for sending the Jdm grill piece to hold the grill in place (& Daz indirectly lol), just took some random (some for my refrence) shots to see how this jigsaw is going to be put together.

Looks as though my crappy temp grill fits quite snug in the Jdm piece but doesn't line with the bonnet when closed leaving a big gap, will me ordering the open mouth grill from xracing (Like Eds old grey DCi), aswell as some new number plates my old small 1 fell off only stuck it on with double sideded.

This is very complex. If u do it I really recommend getting a pro on it. Diy will be damn hard to make look good.

Once all my brainstorming, & parts to complete it, I will hand it over to a pro. No DiY jobbie here, been there done that!

Holy fuck, HOW much? Missed that the first time round. Like you say you could have bought the clutch and fly for that, or helped out with injector research. Blimey. Seriously. WTF?!

Sell them on please to the GTR OC to get some money back! I mean they won;t even be legal on your car without washers and auto level.

and no, I'm afraid that grille does not line up well AT ALL to the bumper piece. If you think that's lined up well I'm worried for the outcome and standard of this bumper work.

I know I'm being more blunt than usual VSpec but jeez you need to be told before you waste your money on this project. Seriously pack it in and put it in the engine. I even regret everything I did on my bumper because of the time and money but this R34 project takes the piss.

Just think this... you'd be running over 200bhp by now if you hadn't fannied around with this.
.

V-SpecII... I see you've gone too far to go back on this idea so you pretty much have to get this right and prove us wrong... or... strike it lucky getting your money back by selling on the parts. There was an Oz company who did an R34 bumper to fit on an N15 chassis several years ago and I must say that although it kinda looked ok, the peeps who bought it just ended up getting the piss taken out of them.

The N16 lines won't compliment the bumper because the shape is a bit too boxy. I suggest you photoshop it on a computer then ask yourself "Does it look ok?" Because you don't want to find out the hard way when you're £2,000 down on a face transplant.

Thanks for the feedback guys, the lights did cost me more then I expected but I can get that back as even on GTROC quite rare to come by. I'm quite sure the R34 didn't have washer Ed, but I do have the auto level wires, thinking of wiring it to mine sure it's possible..?

I no it doesn't I just wanted to see the piece fitted, major work is involved but I hope I do pull it off in the end I'm sure it's not going to be a club hit, but more a skyline itch I have to fulfil & like Darch says I've come to far to look back. ;)

I do like your bumper & had it not been so much time, effort & money I probably would have done the same, so I thought if I'm going to pump the money in, then I may aswell do it the way I want it (was going to upgrade bumper anyway but no decent aftermarket options).

Oh & parts wise I am at 200bhp, but I'm just waiting for the stage2 turbo & 80 core intercooler now before I get the ball rolling again, then off to RS to hit 250bhp... I wish :D or I may just wait a lil longer for the clutch+fly & Hlsd & then go.

Only way this could get better is if he imported them from the usa and they will never pass an mot lol

Come on mate!! That would be stupid I got them from Australia :) . Just kidding :P Got them from the land of the rising sun.

Thanks for the very detailed response fella, I'm not that fussed as I know it's going to look hideous to some, but I'm a spoilt kid & I want it. But thanks for all the advice. :)

No they need to be auto levelling. As in you don't control the level, the car adjusts them to according to ride height ect.

And they will need washers.
