N16 SR16VE

well tbh I decided against using the gti shifters due to your sr20 swap thread saying they needed cut and extended so although I had access to a set off nistros old gti I never bothered pulling them, and when it came time to hook the linkage up and i found that the qg selectors wouldnt work there were no gti's near me in scrappys etc. so after looking at the fsm's of a few cars I worked out that the ph1 n16 di selectors would work with the gti rear mount and gear select connection, and as I knew where one had recently been scrapped that's what I used. I still don't know to this day if the gti set would work without modification but I can get you the measurements of the di one to compare against if you'd like?

Ah ryt. I thought you tried a set :S

Mine were a cut'n'shut of N15 & N16, dont know if there was an extension or reduction in overall length tho?

Ive got a GTi set in the garage so ill measure em up and compare :)

no worries, i'm sure i remember quicky posting that he had to extend them by 20mm or something (is the thread still on here? searching with the phone is a pain lol)

I'll take the measurements off the di set tomorrow and let you know, but tbh the di set could have been 10mm longer to be perfect, as I had to elongate the mounting holes to get the gearstick to sit in the proper place.

iirc Darren used a set off a p11-144 sr20, that may be another option for you

Nah I dont recall him saying he needed to extend them :S He had to adjust them while I was there mind.

Yeah if you could get the measurement from the mounting studs/nuts at the back, down to the gear selector and the same for the one down to the rear mount that would be great :)

Yeah i've looked thru Darrens thread a few times and I could quite easily use the parts he has, but im trying to see if I can do this with the parts I have in the garage (ill still need an engine/box/shafts/loom set). Im fairly certain the QG wont last til next spring so im goin to try and move this forward, but as i haven't really got any spare funds im hoping to do this for as little money as possible (WITHOUT bodging or doing a shite job before anyone pipes up!).

sorry mate I've not managed to get those measurements due to running about like an idiot all weekend trying to get wheels/tyres sorted after two punctures in three days. but I'll get them tomorrow.

on the subject of wheels I just picked up a set of wheels for my car, got them for a cracking price from Gary (he's a member here and neovvl, thanks again mate your a legend!) they need a little bit of tlc but they have cracking tyres on them, plus when the time comes I can use the tyres from the gold alloys on these as they are 17"s too. I'll get some better pics during the refurb but here's a pic I just took just now

Not sure if they are the best fit for your car but until I see them fitted I'll reserve judgement. I guess that's just how some of the wolf-race Asia-tech range are received some are marmite etc.

thanks kingy, we'll have to sort that out indeed ;)

rich they actually suit the shape of the n16 a treat imo, when I saw them on Gary's di sport+ they looked perfect, though his was ky silver so the black spokes with chrome lip looked really good on it, I've yet to decide which way I'll go when refurbing them colour wise but with my current cash situation and the cracking price I paid (only £70!!!! thanks again Gary:shades: ) I'm more than happy with them :)

Can't quibble on the price Phil and I look forward to seeing them on the car so I can share your vision for them. Just hope they work more then my Bushido's did on my Primera?

here's hoping what I remember and what I'm going to do to them will make them look good enough for the car their going on lol. I gave them a quick blast down and they are in quite good condition

yeah ross i saw the sport+ just before garry scrapped it, was when i was up getting the interior and i remember it looking lush, but like i said his was ky silver, and sleeper/paul's rota's look really good in the black/chrome lip style against the ey2 metalic gold, but i just don't see the black/chrome working against the red of my car so i'm thinking on changing the colour scheme, but i'm unsure what to go with yet, or even to go with a 1 colour paintjob or to keep a different coloured lip and spokes? i'm going to chuck a couple of them on the car and get a photo so i can do some photoshop to see what might look nice :)

i'm welcome to any suggestions for the wheel colours also :shades:
[/edit]

Eddie they're off my uncles c230, and my dogs water bowl has a nice dish to it, though it's only 14" diameter

paul I know that dark anth goes well with the red thanks to kingys powdercoated rims looking so good, but I want something a little different from that, as I'm not no 'Swagger Jagger' lol, i was toying with the idea of red spokes and white lip, or vise versa. I'm off down the unit just now to chuck a couple of the rims on the car to get a photo to do some Photoshop work and see what I can come up with.

Liam I'll get that checked out today bud :)
