well the last few days have been a bit of a fail, after us taking these wheels from this sorry state

and stripping them back for refurb like so

i decided to measure up the pcd as something was nagging the back of my mind, and it turns out that they are not 4x100 and 4x114.3 like nistro was told when he got them, they are 4x100 and 4x108 :wall: which is kind of a bugger as they were growing on me once they were stripped back. also over the past few days the car has seemed a little off engine wise, so i took it for a run with ecutalk logging the ecu data and it turns out my lambda voltage never budged from 0.3V, so basically my lambda probe is fookered, i'll pull it tomorrow and see if it just needs a clean, but tbh i cant see it as it's only been running a couple of months. anyway looks like i'll have to stick with the wheels the missus bought me for the time being, though after taking them out the shed and looking at them i may just stick to the steelies lol

AH nuts :(.

They look a bit like old mondeo wheels. That's not a good thing :/ But they're not awful like.

heh ed they are awful, no doubts about it lol, but its what I'm stuck with till funds are in a better shape :/

mark they will be finished and sold on but the cash will be nistro's as they are his wheels not mine, I was only getting a loan of them in the interim.

well I'm off to see what's up with my lambda, here's hoping its an easy fix!

well like Sam was saying it turns out the lambda had died, so a quick trip to the scrappy to grab a couple of lambdas saw the job done, the only reason I didn't automatically think it was fooked is that I had to change the connector on the lambda to suit the engine loom so I thought my wiring might have given up the ghost, anyway car instantly felt better in low down part throttle driving and hopefully my mpg's will pick back up a bit after plummeting to the low 20's per gallon in the past week

well today when moving my lovely wheels I came across my alloy inlet pipe that had been mia for about six months, turns out it had fallen down the back of the wheels at some point. anyway I got it fitted up but I don't think it was meant for a ve as the vacuum pipes are in the wrong place and there is a third vacuum pipe, although tiny it's not for the ve so I just plugged it up, I also used some of the left over silicone pipe to replace the vacuum lines for the fpr and fuel dampener. I know blue and red don't go but come spray time the engine bay will be going black :)

Phil I think i've asked this before but i cant remember, with the gear linkages how come you used the N16 DI one? Does the GTi one not bolt up to the chassis or something?
