Yeah, I compete in the SQ comps, Im not really into that 'burping' as they call it in SPL, fair enough it makes you go "wow" when the car shakes etc etc, but you cant listen to anything musical on them, one bloke at the Mods Nats had a michael jackson dvd on, in his van, loads of subs etc etc, on the track, 'you are not alone', the comps were sounding nice, but the bass line was just one long rumble, sounded very pants, to the point of doing my head in since he was in the tent behind us a full weekend with one bass tone
I'll be honest with ya, Im not too up on 6x9's, although the JL Audio ones I had in(that are now in the loft) were the best I'd ever heard, saying that they were £150 , like everything, more money usually means better sound(but not always, but mostly), but the problem is, most people when they fit 6x9's in the boot, is the large amount of air that the sub moves, this distorts the sound from the 6x9's, coz they're not as powerfull, they have to be using seperate air space for them to work at their optimum
