Lol calm down ? wouldnt say they was riled up hehe, umm i dunno what fault codes they were, havent took it to nissan yet, was hoping i could fix it before i took it there dont think im gonna be that lucky tho :(

I think he means the testosterone flying about when girls sign up to car sites  hehe

You can always check the fault codes yourself, I'd tell you how but I haven't got round to buying a Haynes manual for the Almera yet lol

loads of questions now.......

Does run rough at idle ?
what sensor was changed ?
Will it rev over 4000 rpm and all the way to the red line ?
Does the car over heat ?
Does the engine check light flash or on at all times ?

Any other info ?

nah its ok on idle, crank sensor was changed, yep will rev over 4000 and all way to red line, needle jumps around to getting to 4000 revs, doesnt over heat and the light is on all the time, i apparantly have a tapping sound but have no idea where this would be from

ok :doh!: sorry this is just what i have been told, all i know its its shit to drive :(

If you can get the fault codes I'll tell what is wrong with it.

Btw how much did they charge you for the sensor ?

ill try n get the codes, umm think it was 50, ur gonna tell me i was ripped off now arent ya lol

seems to be lots of variations of similar problems with the GA engines, mine has a big flat spot in 2nd pretty much all the time (presumably there in all the gears but its only obvious in 2nd) and has the occasional complete loss of power and wont accelerate at all then seems to recover and run fine, does it less and less but it still does it some times, also has moments were it will run very well and seems pretty quick for a 1.4, doesnt happen often though. only ever had the engine check light once and once restarted that cleared and has never come back since. has also started to try and stall itself now, can just be idling and the revs will drop to virtually nothing but usually it recovers itself, often idles at 1100 rpm aswell but a quick blip of the throttle sorts it out.

im hopefully getting a second hand throttle body in an attempt to cure it, a full service did very little although it did seem to make the problems less frequent, has started doing the power loss thing less recently aswell but the revs dropping is something thats only started in the last month or two.

Hello & welcome to the club. :)

I`ve just seen your pic, & I`m sure I recognise you from somewhere, you don`t drive between junctions 23 & 30 of the M25 during the week do you?

a short in the wiring harness will bring up multiple fault codes. Find the fault which is a "cause" and not an "effect" and you will find your fault?
