Phase 2 GTi

Its quite difficult to work out a place for the feed to go without taking out a fog light.

There is the small cut out in the bumper below the fog light, which acually has a funnel going through to front wheel arch liner. (The bit where the resonator box sat above.)

So I'm thinking I could make a cut out into this funnel area and have the piping go into there.... It might work.... Anyone else done this?

Found the Cold air feed kit, cheers Ed, and cheers Joe for how you fitted it!

ROLLING ROAD FIGURES

UPDATE

I had my car on the rollers today... I'm pleased with the results, nothing special, but good enough!

What can people reccomend to up those figures and the general performance a bit more? The next things I was thinking are:

AFPR
Advance Timing
De-cat
Cold Air Feed

I am pleased with the results, although I thought I may have seen a bit more power with the mod's I have - Manifold, sports CAT, scorpion cat-back, A'pexi Power Intake. But the results are still good....

Cheers

So, A little bit of an update...

I had my timing looked at the other day and it was only set to 10 degrees... So I had it put to 15 for now.

My recent rolling road result at 145bhp at the fly was with the timing at 10 degrees. So I'm hoping that now it is at standard it will be a little more?? But I plan to go back to the rollers and see what it is now being at 15, then advance it a little between each run.

The other update is that I shall be getting a new Cat-back next staurday (27th) at Unique Exhausts - Stafford. So I shall post pics up when thats done.

Cheers

Dan

119whp with your current mods is on the low side, not a major issue tho as you now know why. The 10 degrees ignition timing will have defiantly of hindered you power figures no question. Possibly should have got this checked before going on the rollers fella.

ps we want pictures during the fitting not just after lol

Yeh I should have checked before. At least next time I go they are going to tweak it whilst its on the rollers. Not sure what figures to expect?

Yep I will get pics :-)

ooooooo phill will be angry he only works in top secret ways.. the only pictures youll get are of the camera going up your arse..

So here's the plan -

Booked the following -

27th March - Unique Exhausts
1st April - Corten Miller Performance Center - Get it back on the rollers and tweak the timing and see what results I can get.

So in a couple of weeks, I should have some pics of a nice new exhaust and some new graphs showing improved power - I hope. Looking forward to it!

COLD AIR FEED

Beautiful day today - so I finally got round to doing my cold air feed. Here it is:

(I didnt want to remove a fog, so i cut some bits out here and there to fit it to the slot below the fog - you can just about make it out in the pic...)

One of the best Almera's I've ever seen. Everything is spot on. This colour is best I think. Are them wheels expensive?
