So, a bit of an update...
Having set my sights on a new set of wheels since the day I bought the car, I've finally managed to get myself some. I bought
V-SpecII's Ph2 N16 alloys and last Friday I managed to pick them up whilst on the way to visit family up north. Bit of an eventful journey, as we got caught in snow on the M1 a good couple of inches thick, but that's another story.
Anyway, I'm back now, and have since had they joy of stripping off the horrible steels and fitting the new alloys. Here's a pic-
I'm pretty pleased with them, sure they're not exactly eye catching, but they're a massive improvement on what was on before and I think the extra inch of rim radius looks better too.
Also, you may notice I've left the last three letters of my numberplate on the photo. I thought I'd reveal where my username comes from, as when speaking with
V-SpecII last week, he thought it might have had something to do with the CBeebies kid's TV channel. It was perhaps an ill thought out username.
Other things I've been working on are less noticeable, but mainly consist of corrosion repair works on the wheel arches and under the rear doors. These are still in progress, and when complete I plan to get a nice set of photos on my proper camera (all of these posted so far have been on my phone).
Unfortunately I'm rather restricted as to the money I can spend on the car for a while, but future plans include things like Ph2 rear wiper conversion and other cosmetics. I think the engine belts are going to need replacing soon too, as they're occasionally making a bit of noise. Anyone know how big of a job that is?
Looking at this photo, I would love to lower the car as the hight on the front wheel arch looks like a bloody tractor. Way out of my price range unfortunately, bar cutting the springs!
