Fitted a spoiler today, although I'm really not sure about the blue/white combo. May have to look at re-spraying when the weather warms up.

He did say he was interested just need shot of it to clear space for other car bits.
Sorry I didn't give you a yes or no on these, it's been a busy few days and I was away over the weekend. I'll have to leave it unfortunately, as the money is best spent elsewhere at the moment. Again, sorry to mess you about.

So, a bit of an update...

Having set my sights on a new set of wheels since the day I bought the car, I've finally managed to get myself some. I bought V-SpecII's Ph2 N16 alloys and last Friday I managed to pick them up whilst on the way to visit family up north. Bit of an eventful journey, as we got caught in snow on the M1 a good couple of inches thick, but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm back now, and have since had they joy of stripping off the horrible steels and fitting the new alloys. Here's a pic-

I'm pretty pleased with them, sure they're not exactly eye catching, but they're a massive improvement on what was on before and I think the extra inch of rim radius looks better too.

Also, you may notice I've left the last three letters of my numberplate on the photo. I thought I'd reveal where my username comes from, as when speaking with V-SpecII last week, he thought it might have had something to do with the CBeebies kid's TV channel. It was perhaps an ill thought out username. ;)

Other things I've been working on are less noticeable, but mainly consist of corrosion repair works on the wheel arches and under the rear doors. These are still in progress, and when complete I plan to get a nice set of photos on my proper camera (all of these posted so far have been on my phone).

Unfortunately I'm rather restricted as to the money I can spend on the car for a while, but future plans include things like Ph2 rear wiper conversion and other cosmetics. I think the engine belts are going to need replacing soon too, as they're occasionally making a bit of noise. Anyone know how big of a job that is?

Looking at this photo, I would love to lower the car as the hight on the front wheel arch looks like a bloody tractor. Way out of my price range unfortunately, bar cutting the springs!

Looks great dude, wheels look smart. Nicer on the ph1 than on their home turf. Love the colour, looks fantastic in that pic.

Always good to keep the rust at bay!

Belts are easy mate. Driver's wheel off, take out a few clips to remove the lower inner arch liners, and undo the tensioners. It'll be obvious once you get down there.

Lowering would be nice. Hopefully you can fork out for lowering springs at least soon.

!

Looking much better mate, & I know why you mean about them not being eye catching, but as you will learning her OEM parts Are always win (well most of the time) lol. That blue is bling... Kinda reminds me of bayside blue skyline colour.

yeah, definitely one of the more memorable colors n16 had, ph2 wheels kinda fits 4 doors better then twists, looks natural.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I've recently noticed the front drivers side indicator housing has sprung a leak and is collecting moisture after wet weather -

I took it out today and inspected the seal. Seems the cover has started to come away from the plastic on one side.

What's more, there seems to be a similar issue with the passenger side main headlight cluster. Which is annoying. Anyone know of how best to fix this? Or is it just going to be easier to get new units and replace them?

Update and some photos -

A couple of weeks back I went to a scrap yard for a few bits that needed repairing or replacing (nothing that exciting, boot carpet, heater nozzle, wheel arch liner and so on). Also ended up getting a few bits I hadn't planned on, namely front fog lights + indicator stalk, and an exhaust trim that the guy threw in for nothing. I know exhaust trims are a bit frowned on in modding circles, but I was getting fed up with the tiny down-turned pipe, and for a freebie I'm not going to complain. I was also looking to get a Ph2 rear wiper, but the yard I was at didn't have a Ph2, and when I found one that did, they wouldn't take it off (apparently it's impossible to get them off without breaking them?!). They wouldn't even give me the option to try myself. I also replaced the wipers today as they were all on the way out. Went for some retrofit flat blades on the front, as I think they look cleaner.

With this afternoon's good weather, I took the opportunity to indulge my other pastime and take a few photos with my proper photography kit, rather than my phone. I was pretty happy with the results...

I'm planning to attend Japfest in May. There's still a fair few things I want to do before then (namely the alternator and power steering belts I mentioned in a previous post), but I feel like I'm starting to get somewhere at last!
