Sr20de cam install tips/help

They do. They're just quite 'old school' by today's standards. With all the VEs and turbo builds about, a drop in cam seems pointless.

I had the Kent version of the S3 in my GTi when I first got it, was noticeabley faster than a standard GTi.

I had a healthy 158whp with 3SRs, hotshot, pullys, nismo afpr and a 2.25" catback. Thats a real world 170ish @ fly.
You'll see good gains with complimenting mods.

So i started late today, could not finish due to it being dark, right so far i have the s3 cams in and the dowels are just off 10 and 12 o clock, and i mean just, also the crank pulley mark is off the second mark slightly,i guess that means if i turn the cam slightly all will line up tomorrow ??

Cams went in fine and sprockets went on when i turn the cams slightly to line up the dowel,i did one cam at a time and zip tied the chain to the sprockets !

So i think timing is ok as i cable tied the chain, the engine is just slightly off TDC,does that sound about right ?

Well put it back to TDC and see how it looks. The lobes nearest the chain should be facing away from each other.

That near i cant notice any difference by eye ect ! So do i just turn the cam so to put the engine dead on TDC as its slightly off the second crank pulley mark ??
