Sr20de cam install tips/help

Right everything put back and tighten up like the bolts should be ect,i have set the engine TDC,dowels are pointing at 10 and 12 o clock,crank pulley is on second mark,ht leads are correct order,set the dizzy to number 1 spark plug,Its a non starter,the engine is turning over like it should,no unwanted contact ect,nice and smooth,but just not starting at all,plugs are getting fuel,any help is more than welcomed :( Whats most likely the cams or dizzy off timing,timing marks are correct though !

Just checked the TDC by tuning the crank,and the rot turn to the number one spark plug also inside the dizzy,the dowels are 10 and 12,all lined up,just try it again,not starting at all,i get abit of sound from the end of the exhaust thats it.

Pull fuel pump fuse, could be flooded.

Dizzy leads back on in the correct order?
Everything electrical connected back up?

Everything is connected back up,i have already pulled fuse for that,but i have try it so many times to start it,it will flooded again !

But that is a high possibilty that it is still flooded,the engine is turning over like it should,just will not fire up,then sometimes i get a noise from the exhaust but rare like it might start but just !

Could be a tooth out then. Get a pic of the cam sprockets at tdc to show us. I'll see if I can dig out the diagram showing how many links between each point on the chain for you just to double check for you

Ok i get some pics of the spockets position ect,it snowing at the moment so hold on,also i zip tied the sprockets to the chain,so cant of skipped a tooth can it ??

The engine will still run if the cams are 2 teeth out.

Sounds like its flooded to me. Pull the fuel pump fuse, crank it till it fires then put the fuse back in.

I have just had another look,and i have counted 21 links from spocket dot to spocket dot ,so do i need to remove the exhaust spocket and move it just one link ect as its the exhaust spocket that is out by one link ??

I pull the fuse now and give it another go now,

Have you got 20 'pins' (IE 10 full links) between the timing marks? If yes;

Have you got the timing marks at 10 & 12? If yes;

Have you pulled the fuel pump fuse and turned it over for a few seconds? If yes;

Put the fuse back in and try again.

If no to any of the above, rectify and then move to the next step.

I have just counted 21 links from dot to dot now on the spockets mate,timing marks are on 10 and 12,i have pulled fuel pump fuse also.

So next question is do i just turn the exhaust cam very slightly to make up another tooth on the chain ,then count 20 links,its the exhaust spocket thats out by one !

Not sure yet,but i have know got back to 20 links ect,all lined up,i think it was just about to start then the batt went flat LOL,so i give it another go just before dark,this time the engine sounded like normal ie loud LOL where as early it wasnt.

Doi need to keep putting the engine at TDC after everytime i crank the engine,i have been but do i have to ??

cani get em mixed up tbf lol *exhaust cam dizzy cut out

charge the battery
take the plugs out
crank it over at full throttle to blow all the fuel out
refit the plugs and start the engine
