was a new/reman alternator because the batt light was on and overcharging but after putting in the new alternator turned out to be a broken signal wire by the relays on the d/s.

was a new/reman alternator because the batt light was on and overcharging but after putting in the new alternator turned out to be a broken signal wire by the relays on the d/s.
Whilst waiting for a few bits and pieces decided to paint my valve cover as it was looking a little bit worse for wear and scratched and chipped.
Years of grime
With the cover removed I was happy to see it was very clean and gave a quick look around the cams and rockers and very little signs of wear.
So got a plastic bag and put it over the head to stop anything falling or making it's way in whilst i was painting.
Cover removed and ready for cleaning and painting.
Gave it a good scrubbing both inside and out before i put on nitro-mors
And masked up

After a couple of hours of scrapping and nitro-mors it was slowly getting clean

Sanding the paint off the lettering before clear

Outside to dry
And finally fitted
And before anyone says anything yes the rest of the bay will be getting a good tidying up.

I'd love to do the plenum but looks like an absolute pain in bag of a job to do.

Ah Mike in Cork? No the ones he had are 18s and i think they are too big for the normal arch gap on the n15. I bought these in Tipp.
I don't know would it suit the colour of the car tho?
Yeah i saw them aswel on the white N1 when i was getting parts, the tyre profile was very very narrow i thought and not very practical unless you lived on the motorway.
