Funny how the primera sr20 has a larger oil-pick up pipe! and it's just mesh not protected as your's appears to be...

Fuck! what a ballache....did you notice evidence of thread lock on the bolt's removed off the baffle?
me personally if i don't see evidence of it then it wont be getting any!

No not a bit, all the bolts came off easy and all the threads where clean. I don't know what to do now, leave it or take it off!

be slight resistance felt if any of the bolt's had thread lock on em eh?

your call dude... if your manual has no mention of it and none was seen on the bolt end's...i personally leave it be?
if the bolt's work loose an destroy ya engine it's only your fault:D

I always see evidence of thread lock on any bolt's iv'e removed! and @Sam why is it specific for only just "2" of the bolt's?

It's the two on the inside of the cover nearest the gearbox side, the backs of them are exposed to oil

Thanks boys:)
Decided to play it safe and took everything off again to put threadlock on all the bolts.
Took the pick up pipe off and put threadlock on the bolts and re-torqued.
Cleaned all the bolt holes with brake cleaner and put threadlock on all the baffle bolts and fitted the oil pan back again.

Holy smokes just googled sr20de pick up and looks like there is a massive difference in size! interested to know why?
Haha yeah small bit addicted now, i was going to leave it be but that's too easy!

The VE engine has the king of SR oil pumps... It's an upgrade for all SR's. Necessary for VVL I suppose and the squirters under the pistons for cooling at high RPM.

I was often seeing 9 bar oil pressure cold and in VVL.
