I found out the induction kit is an Itg tri-foam competition filter which i'm sort of "eh is that a good thing?" about. Apparently they are shit hot. cool!
looks the muts nuts mate clean too!!!! Getting harder to find in that condition and mileage!!
Liking your dads new toy. need looking after those cars, but if they are they are pretty strong relaible and shit loads of fun! Mt boss has always been into tvrs! is it the 4.0 v8 rover serpentine engine thats in it? i know they were in the chimera but were they in this too?
I've driven the 4.0 Chimera & have to say I wasn't that impressed. The JE engineering 3.9 litre V8 TR8 I drove previous to the TVR was far more impressive in a straight line. I pulled out behind an Evo 6 coming up the A9 & he was visibly shocked to see an old car staying with him all the way.
However, to get back on track (ahem) I'd love a Speed Six Cerbera
You're right Stu they do need looking after which usually comes in the form of ££ with the newer ones, but damn they are awsome. I love TVRs.

The Chimaera is decent with rovers V8 and drop top it carried on from the Griffith, but was meant more to be a open top sports car rather than a supercar. The Cerbera was the first car to carry TVR's own race developed high revving AJPV8 which came in 4.2 and latterly a more powerful 4.5. It's much more raw than the Chimaera with much more vicious power delivery. It'll do a standing mile in a little over 30seconds and was one of if not the first "affordable" mass produce car to do 0-100 in under 10 seconds.
Quite reliable engines actually the AJPV8, especially compared to the first series of speed six engines that were absolutely shite. Just need to watch for camshafts warping and eventually snapping needing a re-build. Rebuilt engines all have uprated cams and internals so if you are looking at a TVR with a V8 after like 1994...get one that's been re-built as it'll be good for about 380bhp. [/geek hat]
He's also currently got a TVR 290 S3c running a ford 2.9 V6 which is pretty cool too, but very very tame compared to the cerbera.
