StevenC's GTi

I've driven the 4.0 Chimera & have to say I wasn't that impressed. The JE engineering 3.9 litre V8 TR8 I drove previous to the TVR was far more impressive in a straight line. I pulled out behind an Evo 6 coming up the A9 & he was visibly shocked to see an old car staying with him all the way. :D

However, to get back on track (ahem) I'd love a Speed Six Cerbera

TVR's are fast however the build quality is poor. I live 5mins away from the factory (well old one now) and i work with 3 lads that worked there and they told me some storied of what went on there. Some of it is harsh.

Very very poor build qaulity on most of them yeah. The cerberas electrics suffered catastrophic failure at the weekend after he cleaned the engine bay haha.

Anyway...I think the silver GTi up there looks pretty poor actually. The rear lights look tacky and the wheels don't suit the car at all imo.

Wiper parked in a more sensible place (CHEEERS GARNZ!)
While I was doing this I quickly sprayed the bottom of the arm with some satin paint where it was all corroded. It's not bad, will do until the punto wiper arrives. Also got new plates made up.

Fitted clear indicators too. I think I might need to smoke them as I've decided the bump strips are staying. Better than the orange though.

Next on list is to;
1. Fit burst flexi in exhaust
2. Remove heatshield at downpipe as its broken and rattling like mad.

Not bad actually!

I don't need to ring its neck to get it to go anywhere like I did with the N16 so less right foot is needed. I'm still in the zone of enjoying the surge when it's safe to do so and the induction kit just sounds too good to not keep the revs rising.

Done over 1,000 miles in the two weeks I've had it so far! Wooooooops.

Safe to say you're enjoying it then Steven ! Guess you'll be at Crail soon to try it out ? :D

OK Step one of GTi is now complete. A proper clean to see the real condition of the paintwork. Then a few pictures of course. :)

Handheld at high ISO's so sorry about the quality. I didn't come accross anything I didn't already know about which is good. I'm happy with the overall condition. I think after a good cut and polish it'll come up well mostly. Need to get a couple of dings and the rust sorted el pronto tho.

Looking good Steve :) tbh I don't think many will notice the slight grain in the pics (which only seems to be on the concrete) because of your high ISO, lol, pretty damn good for high ISO work. I know for a fact my 350D doesnt like anything above 400 so yours does well.

Have to say though, your N16 came out better ;)

thats nothing... on his way to meet me and chris last night he had a bird strike...

feathers stuck to the windscreen and all

Really nice shots there Steven, on that last one I particularly like the almost grayscale effect broken up by the indicator. Wishing I never deglobed mine now!

I think the silver is the only colour that actually suits the globes a wee bit just because they break the silver and black up a wee bit. The side indicators are too much though.
