Well, that was advice from Opie Oils... I must admit it runs smoother and oil pressure light comes off quicker after engine start.

Hello again in this thread!
As some of you probably remember I had oil consumption issues with my GTi and the original engine died.
Well, today I decided to take it to bits to see what exactly happened, so here we go:
Garden furniture
Cylinder number 3 bearing shell has welded on and spun due to oil starvation ( this was the cylinder with the lowest compression):
Other ones also did not look healthy, especially the middle crankshaft support:
