definately different between a VZR and an N1 but its still not clear whether they differ between version 1 and 2 N1's unless you have a nismo box

Ver 1 and 2 have same box and ratios according to fast parts system, nismo was the better 1 for short ratios but as outofsight said there very rare box and seemed to be on full option track cars only in japan, the ver 2 on youtube racing the ek9 has a nismo box id say as if u watch him changing gears it doesnt fall back much in the revs maybe 1200rpm or so, and is a full option ver 2 as said in clip.to be honest even on standard n1 box it would have still whipped the ek9 trust me ; )

I thought all VZR's and N1's had the same ratios, the only difference being N1's were hydraulic?

Bar the Nismo box obvisously.

i dunno. i thought the vzrs had the same as the n1 v1 and that the n1 v2s had shorter ratios coz people keep tellin me to get v2 ratios to sort out my box

Its probably just the usual hear'say, lost in translation stuff. I would think all the ratios on the imports with LSDs were the same. I dont think theyd use a different box only on the N1

Ive now got a record of 7 Autechs in the UK. Saw an ad on pistonheads (the one inahole posted up in Feb), claiming there to be 22 in the uk.

I think you might be referencing the ad for the autech we bought and he had just copied the ad from the original by the importer, so if its the same one I am guessing that the 22 in the UK claim is about 3/4 years old

Yeah it was the advert for your one, I'm not sure how many have come in since, it would have been 2006 or early 2007 at least before they were easier to import again, thansk to that 10yr rule. I think most of them were in before the rule was introduced.

what so you cant import a car if it is over 10 years old?

Other way round. Else NPOC would have imported a few SR20VE P12s by now :-D

Anything over 10yrs old can be imported but anything less needs a model report as far as I know. I dont think anyone has the cash to have one done for any N15, but it doesnt matter now as the last of the N15s are all 10yrs old

I love the smell of Autech exclusivity in the morning... Not to mention that lovely exhaust sound, the fabulous gear changing and the push you back in your seat acceleration

You know you want one...
