The Turtle

Nice one Ross! These things are a track weapon. Having seen a "very lightweight" one running a de-limited 1.3 with a 1.0 box staying stuck to the arse of a 260bhp scooby round knockhill, an SR20 in Project Turtle will be crazy sheet.

[off topic]Those who were at JAE 2009 you might remember the little black Micra pick up truck belonging to my ginger friend Gary (his is the micra I talk about above). Well, it's had an engine transplant. Assuming he get's the LSD box somesones promised him...it's going to be the wildest K11 Micra in the UK. Easily. [/off topic]

I am actually looking forward to seeing this little monster go! i will have the engine ready soon mate, do you have anyone near your unit/you with a forklift? as its going to be on a pallet etc and not exactly light neither?? lol

I'm sure we can get use of a folklift if needed but we've got a tackle as well so we can just drag the pallet. Lol

This is gonna be immense when finished.

old loom and ecu should run it fine if its going in 1.0L damien afaik

I really love the thought of this project, a mildly modded K11 with suspension mods should be a rapid on a track anyway so why sr20?
cg10de pistons, regrind from autosprint, dizzy mod to remove rev limit, ga16 fuel rail and intake mani and decent exhaust would easily see over 100bhp from it which is more than enough with a completely stripped shell

I guess the easiest answer is 'because'.

Because SR20 is awesome, meh Id like to see a SR16VE in there. Would probably be enough torque... but put some N1 cams & uprated spring/retainers and rev it to 9k now that would be awesome :beta1:

One SR16VE on ebay went for £350 the other week!

Choke, buy my engine!

I would love to see Little Bandit recreated again and bettered!

P.S. For all those about to reply with stupid comments about how it would be too much and 15" wheels make it handle badly and all that shit...

UNLESS YOU HAVE EVER BEEN IN A SR20DE+T POWERED MICRA, LET ALONE ONE WITH LOTS OF HORSEPOWER, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMMENT!

Unless you have, do not post any comments with regards to the matter!

Thank you

Dave

I put my gti wheels on her micra and it was awful to drive I find the 14's are much better and they still fit over the gti front brakes. Major downside is tyres are more expensive as I can't get budget ones in a suitable size.

Sent from my x10i using my penis.

the answer?

because we can lol. and 300hp/tonne sounds better than 200hp/tonne and more unbeatable

i was working on this last night. took all the heaters out, stripped open the inner loom and removed most of the redundant wiring. so all thats left now is the loom to run the car, lights and clocks. however the clocks will need to be changed anyway as they are mechanical speedo, whereas the GTi is electrical pinion.

Haha fair enough, will probably understeer like a bitch with that lump up front. Best of luck though, im really looking forward to seeing your results from this! Will RRdevelopments be making this a possible conversion in future? :whistling:

unlikely as its a lot of work. i spent 3 hours last night solely removing wiring to make it easier.

understeer can be remedied though. yeah its gonna be nose heavy but end of the day there is ways around that ;)
