I was going to sell mine and get a 3 door a while back, I keep thinking about it, but I don't see the point tbh. Few extra kilos, loads more practicality. I wanted to strip it out too, but the 5 doors put me off. But now I'm working on a cross between stripped and not, so everything in the back is going except the rear seats, speaker pods and parcel shelf. I'd stop fixating yourself on a 3 door and realise there isn't much difference, you'll be just as happy with a 5 door, if not more.

i just hate the fly windows at the back it makes the car look so long and estate like and none sporty.

What I was thinking. There's one perfect 3 door SRi on autotrader, but it's a really really feminine blue colour. I'm being picky I know. By monday though, I'll 100% have an Almera regardless. Working until 4 sat/sun, so after that i'll be visting a few.
Hugely excited about the cheap SRi quote. Can't wait to be driving along in my Mera with 98 horses, aircon and plenty of space. Much better than a Fiesta now I've seen them side by side.

you will love it. Miles better than a 1.4 too, the extra bit of torque is much more comfortable for using round town.
Aircon is a nice touch too, got mine regassed as soon as i got my SRi, mmmm 10 degrees on a hot summers day
Watering at the mouth now. If I hadn't forgot about the bank closures today I'd be in one now. First thing I'm going to do is head for a local lane. Havn't driven for 8 months and it only had 55bhp. It's going to be the best.

Well it definitely makes it more easy, I carry bikes in my car alot and the extra doors REALLY help. Get a bit of black vinyl on the pillars and it doesn't look so bad either. Plus I like estates lol.

I think you did right. The time difference whilst waiting would be soooo much more enjoyable driving.
And I havn't the ability to insure a group 14 car, lol so can't buy your GTi.
Get my dad to inspect it tomorrow, check it over etc. It's got a couple scrapes but nothing major or even noticable really. But at this price and mileage I do believe It's not a problem.
I'm stuck on the 5 door stigma though.
