updates on the n14 vvl/ nos/ lsd project

Lol, Don't want to go totally nude like you Dan.
Will leave as it is for now and see what I can get.
It must surely hit very high 13 or very low 14 now if i push it hard.
What do you think?

I think the only issue i had before was traction, now with these t1-r's and 16's I noticed instant difference.
Can't wait. But don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Sounds like alot of fun to me Andy :D I think with alittle bit more removed and power shifting your way down the track, should get you close to 13s but if I was you set your self a target of a low 14, that way when you fit some proper cams you should be able to push though to the 13.

Im so disappointed that my exhaust cam wasn't switching that day I went racing as I know I would have got a 13s, and it frustrates me even more that chances are even tho I know the car can do a 13s it probs want ever get the chance to now :( sad time

Good luck mate

Once again, i know iam not an almera, but just for fun and comparsions.

I will next remove strut braces front and rear, door cards, and run steelies at rear, practice my launch and shifting techniques on private roads...Then it's off to the Pod again beginning Sept...Aim 14.2/14.3

Then looking to make a few more changes to run in October for Shakies to get that all important 13.9999999999999999999999999 lol

rolling resistance, not weight, think of a racer versus a mountain bike Tyre. just like some use the get me home wheels, thinner tyres equals less rolling resistance ;)

Yeah space savers would be worth it, as they are 150ish width.

Try getting hold of some 13" micra steelies, I think they come with 165 tyres?

How much does, you alloy inc tyre weigh? if you have bathroom scales would be cool.

Do you know what the smallest rim size that can fit over your front brakes btw.. and Liam will 13's really fit over GTi/Sunny rear calipers? cause if so I might give it a go with some skinny tyres on.

Eddie, Each alloy is 6.4kg, so very light. Not sure with tyre just yet.
The brakes cataloge say only 17 can go round but i managed to fit these 16's just about , and i mean just about.
I needd to remove the wheel weights and put them further in the rim.

Also 13's will not go on the rear only 14's.
But don't want to run smaller on the rear really, want the front to be pointing downwards.

Anyway just to show show close...also see post 528 on this thread.

More stripping, looking to next go Pod the weekend of the Jap show 2-3 weeks time, RWYB on the Sat and Jap show on the Sun.
May do the weekend camping thing.
My tunner will be at the Jap show and said he will be happy to take my car up the strip.
He told me he'll get 13's in my car simple.
Smoke the tyres heavy at start, good launch, flat shift.
Maybe it's also about driver technique.

Anyway more stripping below.
Next to go
Door cards
Rear carpet surround
Rear speakers quite heavy
front fogs- kept coming loose anyway as they were not that secure due to missing bolts

My next target for myself up the strip is 14.30---Dan watch out
My tuners target 13's...lol

I will possibly end up making this a full on 1/4 mile car next year, and just have it as a hobby.
Misses too demanding lol..
This all depends on me finding a good full size trailer, and moving to a house with good size garage, rear and front garden with big driveway.
So will just take it to events, then that means no need for mot or tax, and by 2013 Jan this car will be under the classic car banner so better for me as well.

Took the car out on the road afterwards, just to have a play, get more miles on the brand new t1-r's. Car feels great, pulls strong... Can't wait for next rwyb.:ninja:

My next mods-on the look out

-carbon tailgate
-carbon flat bonnet
-plastic windows all round

Just a thought but have you thought about getting winding windows. You will be suprised how much a eletric motor weighs.
