What to do to it?

Yep agree, Don't bother DET'ing it, just a few more N/A mods, and spend less time cleaning it and more time enjoying it.

I don't see why you can't turbo it mate, it sounds like you obviosuly want much better performance (S14), and i've never seen a turbo'd Type R yet that didn't make people jealous, I guess a turbo Autech wouldnt be any different. As long as it was the original engine and not swapped for a SR20DET i suppose.

cover it in jdm stickers and watch manga cartoons in it

Man speaks sence.

After looking on Pit Road M, they do SO many parts that you can't get here for the N15.

LSD, Carbon bonnets, proper kick ass Manifolds, engine dampers etc.

I've asked Amber Performance about a few bits.

Interested in the Carbon, engine damper and that SR16VE manifold and downpipe, wondering if it'd fit as the head looks very similar, as does the bolt pattern.

You know what it's like, there becomes a point where you want more, I've had the car since Feb with a DE-cat and Apexi.....Mind is starting to wonder what else is available and it seems the best place is Japan for parts. Yeah it may take longer to get and it's a pain, but I think it could look pretty sweet.

Coilovers and carbon bonnet with some engine toys too :P

Trouble on here is the almera is a cheap car (ususally) and that attracts a certain type of person, Generally speaking I think most of us only have n15's as we cant afford anything better... rowdy you dont count, your just strange :)

I can afford to buy and run a faster car but there's just something i love about the N15. I thinks its got that "will look this good in x amount of years" about it. I think in 5 years time i'd still think they look sweet unlike modern cars which date quickly. I think benskett should try and get some more N/A power out of it. After finally driving a turbo's FWD car, its put me right off turbo'n mine. It was just undriveable. Not very smooth and understeer was scary as everytime you take a corner when its coming onto boost, you can kiss your ass goodbye. Its made me think more about n/a performance. I bet 200bhp in a n/a fwd sr20 will piss all over 200+ turbo'd sr20 on a track at least, which for me is where it counts.

edit: i say think alot.

Yeah I'm gonna keep it N/A, turbo-ing the car would cost too much money and Rowdy's car is an inspiration to us all (no doubt) and shows how good this engine can be.

You know you're cool when you can dick an Impreza with an Almera :D

ill second a couple of peoples opinions....i could easily have bought a 'better' car, and run it, but there is something i love about it. the engine responds pretty well to even minor mods (well mine has)

and if i can get 200bhp out of it like bigmac was trying to out of his, ill be well happy, just got it to a stage i like as well, wheels sorted, brakes sorted, got coilovers but took them off, they will be going back on, but everything you do to them makes them even better. mines just getting better all the time.

dont find mine has a massive amound of understeer either...

keep it and do some more mods...

my next mods are flywheel, cams and im gonna smooth my throttle body at some point soon as well...

I agree keep it n/a. Get some real modifications and forget about the pointless bolt on max power style shit. The Autech is how the mera should've been.
If you didnt live so bloody far away I would have bought your Autech - I wanted to buy it from br3n last time it was for sale but you beat me to it .

Thanks mate :rasp: i could have bought a S15, Scooby or Evo yrs ago......its just more fun making an `inferior` car nearly as fast.....

im with rowdy must be a thing with being called ian lol much more fun to make "slow" cars fast... that and the fact fast cars attract attention from criminals who wanna nick them police who wanna pull you and they are generally alot to maintain! the amount of evos ect you se eup for sale around there first service interval as owners dont realise just how much they are to keep is unreal lol...
