Whooped

i could possibly live with a sierra cosworth but to be honest they are so rotten nowerdays even the minters are starting to wear round the suspension mounts (i work on a minter with 56k genuine miles on it and even thats starting to go)

Has anyone ever converted a sierra cossie from 4x4 to RWD, in 2 weeks time im doing it, and as far i understand you take the FWD pinions out the box and a few more bits are pieces? Anyone any ideas?

p.s they just dont make cars like they used to :( bunch of safety consious wankers lol

p.p.s and before i get a flood of messages "calibra turbo's are better and so are astra gsi's.....they are not, iv driven the lot of them so :P *sticks tongue out*

i never once said they did have turbo's but people were calling them slow when they drive an almera gti :s dusnt seem rite lol

to be honest ive never beaten someone with a bigger engine, only really fun one ive had was racing a 206 quiksilver 1.4 i believe and that was in the almera on 17s, was just behind him all the way but as i went past 75 the almera pulled better, quite like the 3rd gear on the 1.4 gearbox.

im good at starts but if someones got a 1.6 and up or a lighter car then theyll get the distance back.

even my mates focus c max coutesy car pisses all over mine!

raced me mates furio up the local bypass the other nite...his grill flew off as we were doin just over a tonne,, just missed the roof of my car(by about 4cm)! dunno how i'd explain those scratches to my mum!

me and me dad raced an rs focus once in his new saab93 aero nice car actually was suprised of the torque it had 210bhp and, i think its nicer and more practical that the fuckus Rs !

just wanted to point out that a saxo furio is a insurance frendly special edition with vtr body work, multi-coloured trim and 1400 75bhp engine, gearbox, suspension and brake's etc.
they are not a faster version of the vtr.

and just out of interest how is a bailey dump valve going to inprove the performance of a focus rs?

round here a lot of people diss honda's, esp the newer type r's, they just like the focus rs/st etc are not lacking in engine performance they are built to please the sort of people who are going to spend £16-30k on a new car they have to be weighted down with 27 air bag's traction control etc, if they made them as light (and therefor as fast) as they could they would never sell the amount they have done.

@ KailGTI

Uprated dump valves (BOV) are more responsive than standard bosch type units. Allowing boost to build faster.
Apparently the standard type can also leak boost after time reducing performance. Ideally you would want to have an uprated recirculating unit.

I dont race.

But my mate has beaten a Astin martin vanquish and a ferrari 355 in a.......

........Vauxhall corsa

Both from a roll about 70mph onwards

I never race either.......

2.0 306 cabriolet (Big wheels and driven by a prick).
White Sri in similar spec to mine.
Clio Rsi (On the backroads and he couldnt drive to save his life)
Focus 1.6 (No performance mods, my god they are slow)
Escort Si/Gti (Same engines but Gti's have leather and Air Con so in theory are slower)
Mazda 323F (1.8 V6 Executive)
2001 Mini Cooper (Not as quick as i thought)
Eunos Roadster (Import MX5 driven by a bummer)
Saxo VTR (Driven by a very capable and fit young lady)

Like i said i never race.......all of the above were just trying to keep up.
