almera and pulsar.

anyone know how to remove the complete dash?????

Two bolts on top of the dash hidden by square covers removal with flathead screw driver. Pull out pillars. Remove center console x4 screws inside the din areas plus cigarette tray removal via latch or simply pull straight out. x3 screws inside of the dial cluster surround and pull out dial cluster detaching x2 block connectors from behind. x3 screws under the steering surround and remove the steering column surround. Unhook the glovebox remove screws left and right of the footwell. Unlatch steering column height adjustment moving the steering wheel down. Lift entire dash up and to the right. You may want your doors open when you do.

May not be entirely accurate but what I remember off the top of my head!

Unless you really know what you`re doing i wouldn`t attempt a SR20 swap. I wouldn`t, unless it was replacing another SR20. Joe makes it look easy, but he seems quite smart with cars.

I think most members on here have had some stick about the `almera` brand. Dont take it to heart. Keep your run around and save your pennies for a better car, whether thats another almera or not.

Cheers Rowdy lol
I found the swap to be really straight forward, once you've got your head around where everything goes, and what it does, your half way there.
I'm completely self taught, had no training or anything, although I've been brought up around modified cars.
As I said previously, it took me longer researching for the swap than anything, as Andy S never really did a detailed write up.
He basically used a GTi to make his into a GTi.. Where as I used the bare basics to convert mine, so I'm left with a bare SR20 with no unnecessary parts cluttering my engine bay.. And it all turned out well, touch wood.

Best thing to do is buy a black tidy GTI and have it sprayed white. Should get a tidy job for £800ish. Don't paint the engine bay as a lot of Japanese cars have black engine bays and different colour bodies. Jobs a good'un.

If you want purely straight line speed in a hurry here's an idea:

1> Buy Citroen Saxo VTS for really cheap now
2> Turbo Citroen Saxo VTS.

935kg car with a 1.6 turbo (which standard already destroys the majority of 2 litre cars).

Or tune it N/A. It's the fact they weigh nothing that gets you going. However, if you do this, do not crash, hit a crisp packet or forget to upgrade brakes and suspension etc.
