Autech GTi

where did you get it from sam?
and how did you fit it in?
ive got the exact same center console as you and ive got my cd player in the bottom section with a open space above, but cant see how ive got to fit it in :/

stufa

Its a DIN guage plate Stu, get them on ebay.

Looks smart Sam, will be doing this when the VE goes in. Could do with a 17" monitor on the dash though, as down by the radio was the last place i was looking, when mine went at mallory. lol

My passenger will always be tasked with keeping an eye on them,

I will take pictures of it all seperate for you stu when I wire them in, they fix to the same bracket the stereo gets screwed to, I have one of the little dash pockets back in there now which screws in just the same.....

its kinda like that but not as shit

i think the defi guage sets which come with an aditional warning lamp are best for serious track use.. you have the guage mounted where its conveinient but they can drive a seperate LED that flashes when you get to a pre designated temp/pressure.. just like a shift light.. a few LEDS on the top of the dash binical is alot better than checking guages all the time!

mine have the extra wires for that ;)

Ive fitted them purely because I know just how shit/vague the standard gauges/sensors are, as said the oil light will only flash on when its too late.

Daily or not my engine to me is more important than the one in my gti is/was

do they? sweet where did you get them from anyway dude? how do you set the levels you want them to ground a warnign light out to?

also corbs got you a front panal from mine yesturday you get it yet?

not sure how to set them if Im honest Ive just taped the wires I dont need back to the loom, front panel has been delivered too :)

when I swapped the manifold from the gti I left the lambda in, all my stuttering/stalling/hesitation issues appear to have stopped :D happy boy, and for the first time Ive actually had a resonated decat do something it has stopped the rasp that used to be present around 3k sounds much deeper now, I really need to get a decent mid section made up now

came with the gauges :) Il take a proper photo of it when I get a chance, its not a clip in one you can fix it to the metal cage, which Im very happy about

I did welding once on some dodgy college stint in school for a couple months. it's nowhere near as hard as it looks.

No its not on a lovely clean surface with acres of space, try it on a rusty piece of shit at the end of a sill or similar on a ramp, then it becomes more of a skill!

up inside the rusty wet inner arch of a transit van with the welder one side of the axle and your arm on the other just to get enough space.............. that was a great first ever welding experience
