Autech Pulsar GTi

awesome work as usual bud! wheels look great and set the car off a treat

i think your biggest battle will be the 13.5>14:1comp ratio, especially as its claimed the ve head can attain greater than 100% VE with a good header so the dynamic compression could be higher, certainly be interesting for anyone else looking to stroke a 16ve to see how it goes, as it will cut the costs for sure. for your mapping I'm sure i remember someone on here having problems using dastek on a high comp ve (raceworks maybe?), due to insufficient adjustment in the system? if it does come to that another option for you that will be suitable just now and in the future with your itb's would be nemu/tunercode, as tunercode v6 is due for release soon which will enable MAP instead of MAF as well as other goodies (tunercode v6 speclist >> http://www.sr20-forum.com/showthread.php?p=641247 ) but hopefully it won't come to that.

Phil, i'm planning to use 370cc injectors to help cover some of the issues you brought up there.

Raceworx VE ran a bit lean below 3,000rpm using a dastek and 16VE ecu, but fuelled okay after wards. It also had a dip in power when engaging the high lobe, but i believe that was to do with the Newman N1 cam copies.

I also have doubts about the high compression, but i think if the tuner is good, then it can be made safe..even if its wasted potential of going that high CR in the first place only to have to essentially de-tune the motor to be able run it.

yeah the bigger injectors will give you a help with the resolution with the 1.6ecu on a 2L, should more than cover it I would think. also as you mentioned before the guys in pr have had good results with the 16ve pistons unmodified in a 20ve so hopefully its a non problem.

I now have said newman cams and from as accurate as I can measure outwith an engine they seem to be exact replicas of the n1's, i'll be able to check better once they are connected up to a bottom end obviously so hopefully i'm right lol.

anyway I look forward to seeing how it goes, should easily crack the 200whp mark all being well, and the guys at aldon have done you proud before so I hope that you get results like the pr guys

....phone....

Sunoco 102 race fuel needed with this LOL
It'll be interesting to see how it does for sure.. I personally think it's gonna be a very conservative map.
Shame they let you down with the rev limiter adjustment Dale - what a bummer!
Standalone y0!!!

Wow cant wait too ses the results of this. Will be interesting to see how a build lile this performs this side of the water :). Beat of luck :)

Haven't updated this thread in a while!

The car has been SORN'd since Nov 2012 and not a fat lot has happened since.

Got the front bumper repaired, both wings and N1 rear spoiler painted.

Finally got around to fitting my Meister Coilovers and extended wheel studs this weekend. As the car has been standing for a while, the O/S/R Brake caliper was seized pretty good too, so had to remove that and free it off.

Im planning a new motor setup for 2014, im piecing together a new intake manifold to go with a Q45 throttle body, and ive also purchased N1 camshafts.

Its Meisters Anti Rust Coating David, i also have neoprene socks for them to keep the dirt off.

Got the car finally back on the road after recieving some fresh paint on the front end.
A little progress has been made on the intake manifold.
Have changed the exhaust system too, now running a big tube triy header and a 2.25" catback.
More updates coming soon.
