BeardedViper N16

Get rid of the centre silencers mate. On mine even with the SR20 it was no louder than standard with the centre boxes and a 4" jap cannon back box.

Get it fitted mate then worry about what it sounds like lol

Fingers crossed it'll look sweet mate

Then get onto the other bits I said about :p

Ok then mate..When I heard Ryan's box at JF I noticed that the sound was hardly altered and he had both centre silencers. I mean, I don't want it stupidly loud but if it'll sound better and will be worthwhile to get rid of both I'll do it that way :)

Cheers man

Yeah it will defo flow better without them, but as above get the backbox fitted first then see if its loud enough or not. Removing the centres should only be an hours work anyway.

Yeah to have the pipe welded and remove one of the boxes I have been quoted 1 1/12 hours labour which seems reasonable to me. He said he'd remove the larger of the two boxes and then we'll see what it sounds like. If it's still quiet then I'll get the other box removed. IIRC the seller that Ryan bought it from said it sounded good on full chat with both boxes but quiet when at idle.

Yesterday I cleaned the car and took it to have a few photies taken before it's gets the zaust and gets lowered:

Exhaust day finally came and......Meh :(

Cost a fair wack to get it fitted as unfortunately it wasn't a simply bolt on job as it is from the first off the line N16's so had a shorter pipe than mine. The garage had to chop it and weld on a new flange to make it fit after the flexi.

It looks a shed load better than standard though. Standard:

And now:

It sounds good but no where near loud enough (as Liam said it wouldn't!) So at present I have the one short silencer in the middle so that is getting removed in a month and I'm just having a straight pipe onto the backbox.

Had a busy day today as well. Got up to a bit of spraying as Nige said I need to spray the door handle surrounds and the wing mirror backings. I also sprayed my 12v rear socket cap and the rear ash tray face:

Fitted to the car:

I also went scrap yard diving and picked up 4 chrome door handles (two are for sale http://www.almeraownersclub.com/threads/a-few-n16-parts.45100/). The standard ones:

The chrome ones:

(Got to say a big thankyou to Paul for letting me know how to change them without breaking bits!)

I also got the pin for my rev needle as it hasn't had it since I bought the car and has always bugged me. Before:

After:

The final thing I did today was while I was at the scrappy I picked up the nut for my p2 rear wiper (Which I bought from Ryan - thanks again mate) So I got around to fitting that. Before:

After:

Unfortunately when I bought the rear wiper off Ryan it had no cap on it but Paul came up trumps again when he went scrap yard diving and found me one! It's in the post to me now and I really appreciate it mate!

Next jobs on the list:
Lowering springs fitted
Black door cards (As it has been pointed out to me that the handles now look shite with all the bright colours!)

Sorry for the big assed post but it's been a busy day :)

Just keeps getting better mate. Making me wanna spray some bits of my interior now

Cheers man :) all of this started from me seeing it done on an almera in a scrap yard!! Although i did spray my old 306 interior red but it was a massive fail.. Think ive done a better job this time round! :)

Update time!

Haven't had any spare money really and as payday has come around I decided to get some (more) spray paint.

I mentioned getting black door cards in my previous post and seen as they are pretty damn rare I figured it'd be easier to just paint up my ones to see how they'd look. Pretty sweet IMO.

This is off the car:

Driving round with no door card...such a rebel:

The final piece:

They are soaked now after todays lovely rain but the finish is good and I think they look a lot better. Also sprayed around the window switches which can be seen in the above picture.

Lowering springs within the next 3 weeks as well as sorting the exhaust out and hopefully fitting the apexi :)
