Yesterday I cleaned the car and took it to have a few photies taken before it's gets the zaust and gets lowered:
Exhaust day finally came and......Meh
Cost a fair wack to get it fitted as unfortunately it wasn't a simply bolt on job as it is from the first off the line N16's so had a shorter pipe than mine. The garage had to chop it and weld on a new flange to make it fit after the flexi.
It looks a shed load better than standard though. Standard:
And now:
It sounds good but no where near loud enough (as Liam said it wouldn't!) So at present I have the one short silencer in the middle so that is getting removed in a month and I'm just having a straight pipe onto the backbox.
Had a busy day today as well. Got up to a bit of spraying as Nige said I need to spray the door handle surrounds and the wing mirror backings. I also sprayed my 12v rear socket cap and the rear ash tray face:
Fitted to the car:
I also went scrap yard diving and picked up 4 chrome door handles (two are for sale
http://www.almeraownersclub.com/threads/a-few-n16-parts.45100/). The standard ones:
The chrome ones:
(Got to say a big thankyou to Paul for letting me know how to change them without breaking bits!)
I also got the pin for my rev needle as it hasn't had it since I bought the car and has always bugged me. Before:
After:
The final thing I did today was while I was at the scrappy I picked up the nut for my p2 rear wiper (Which I bought from Ryan - thanks again mate) So I got around to fitting that. Before:
After:
Unfortunately when I bought the rear wiper off Ryan it had no cap on it but Paul came up trumps again when he went scrap yard diving and found me one! It's in the post to me now and I really appreciate it mate!
Next jobs on the list:
Lowering springs fitted
Black door cards (As it has been pointed out to me that the handles now look shite with all the bright colours!)
Sorry for the big assed post but it's been a busy day
