Chunkys Pulsar GTi

Looking forward to seeing it when i come get my parts you are collecting at jae. Will get some tips and make a shopping list so i can boost mine.

Have you ran the actuator line to the back of the plenum? That line needs to be before the throttle body so it doesn't see vacuum and also needs to be as short as possible.

Buy a QuickTap off eBay and put it in the silicone joiner. Also Teeing off the actuator line for a boost gauge is never a good idea.

This could very well explain some odd boost issues :) cheers Chris :)

Bought :) cheers again.

So when that arrives shall I put that into the hose closest to the boost controller or the actuator ( or just move it all closer?)

I've never put my actuator line to my boost pipework and always to the vacuum line for the inlet like most stock turbo setups. Never had a problem. But how does doing it the other way improve things? I'm willing to give it a go if it keeps the boost a little higher top end.

I was told that actuator lines are supposed to be as close to the turbo as possible, which is probably why most car's have them attached straight back to the turbo outlet or at least somewhere before the throttle body. Technically the shorter the actuator line the quicker it should spool.

When I first built mine I Tee'd off the plenum exactly as Chunky did. I then Tee'd off that line for a boost gauge. It wasn't as bad as Chunky has explained for Lag but after I fitted a quick tap and didn't have a boost gauge in the mix it did spool up alot quicker.

Cheers for all the information guys. Ive bought the tap so can't hurt to try it out and see how it goes I guess :)
