Darrens N16

Gutted for you Darren was going to say if you buy it back and strip, I'd be intrested in the front and rear splitter, but the front I think will not exist. That is shocking how much damage was caused.
If you decide to sell and n16 bits give me a shout if the front splitter is all there even if in bits might be intrested too.

I feel for you Daz after all the effort you put in. But it sounds like you're ok, so that's the main thing. As for the accident, well I watched a very similar event almost take place 2 weeks ago at work. A newly qualified driver turned across the road right in front of 2 oncoming cars ! I knew if they hadn't braked hard, she would have been thrown straight into my path. It was a sobering thought, so I followed her & told her what she'd just done. The scary thing is she didn't have a clue what she'd done or how close it really was . . . . . .

Was just reading through this thread and seeing how amazing thing beaut looked, gutting to see it come to such a sad end :'(

On the bright side your Ok tho and noone else was hurt

I need some help lads. could admins message me or Call me ASAP I need some help.
I need a letter from Almera owners club on the value of this car. If I can get a letter from AOC claiming its worth X amount I will be able to get a lot more.

please PM me your number and I will call you back ASAP.

but for now if everyone had the money on the club. how much would you pay for the car ?

5-7K mark ?

Thanks
Darren

Unfortunately I have to agree with Liam...

It may have X number of £k's spent on it... but in the end its still an almera...

I couldn't see people paying over 4k for it... just think Dave Bull's mera 5k and look how much to took to make it...

Glad you ok bud... I didn't see the pics... but it can't be good...

:(

£3k from me, and that's coming from an enthusiast.

Only an enthusiast would buy such a car IMO

Modifications do nothing to add value to a car, that's why standard cars are easier to sell for more.

I still think there's a distinction between market value of the car and what it would sell for, and cost to replace, and I think insurance should cover cost to replace.

That being said, I'd estimate about £4 - 4.5K, considering insurers don't work exactly that way, but you should try and get more than the raw chassis value.

Regardless Insurers will go off market value.

As much as you will disagree and as much as it sucks. That's just what you have to come to terms with when spending money on your car.

I know Sam. "considering insurers don't work exactly that way" Worth trying though anyway.

^in theory, that's how it should be. But after talking to insurers (namely Sky) that's not how they work. Shit isn't it.

Just saw this thread, since you've removed the pics I can't comment but glad your alright and good luck with the insurance!

A 04 plate ford focus diesel hit me. I will be stripping the car. I want another N16! however I will keep that one as a track slag and store it indoors.
Glad your ok bud I never saw this thread till just now so no idea of the damage sustained but your ok so that's the main thing!

If your after a shell etc I have a 3 door phase 1 that will be going to scrap heaven once it is stripped of the bits I need maybe it would be of some help to you?
