Eddie's SRi

Seems there life in the old girl yet, just got new's from an incident back in June...

My car was hit in B&Q carpark on the 10th of june, filed a case at police station some months later hes now facing court prosicutions for failure to stop and report a road trafic indcident :hammer:

Thats the damage, a scrape down the passenger side nothing major but still will need respray on that side.. will it need a full respray or just partial spray/blending in?

Im going to get a quote on damages tomorrow, since the claim has now been reported its going through.

Question is, due to the repairs cost might be quite high will my car be written off again?... in all honesty im not really wanting to restore the car... but if it ends up having a respray done through insurrance might want to restore it.

Or look for a 'Cash in lue settlement' via insurrance or negotate directly with the other party which was denying all knowlage of the accident at first. And now since the court case has been forced to admit liability due to my persistant nature on my part :sailor:

Cars only a Category C, ive said I want to keep the car.... its still on my driveway.. I could get it taken away once I have stripped it.. but whilst its still in my possesion the other party that hit me is still obliged to carry out repairs unless the car is deemed unecomical to repair then the car will be written off again?

Not sure ethier way the bastard wont be getting away scott free :cowboy:

Most importantly, this accident was prior to my most recent accident. Different case and must be looked at in the light of the condition of the car prior to the first accident :)

they cant write it off again Eddie, it's a cat c still. Just because you bought it back doesn't mean it's not written off any more!

It's a cat c until such time it's crushed, scrapped, or gone through a VIC check to get it back on the road.

I want to ensure the bastard doesnt get away scott free, Ill find out the cost of repairs on the car.

So in that sense you rekon even though he is liable to repair costs, they would only repair it once its made roadworthy again?

I have my next door neighbour that can weld awsome, he built his own boat! I think its time I made him a brew and had a chat

Your not really helping yourself asking whether you should get a minor scrape fixed and sprayed on a car that has its ass stoved in....

More the principle that, the guy that caused the scrape shouldn't get away Scott free in light off recent happenings. There is a way to recive a 'cash in lue' settlement for damages which would be justice enough I feel. But if they want to repair the car instead of a cash settlement then I dont mind. Still my car and I can have it repaired if I see it fit... why should the offender walk away just cause of another recent accident.

You missed Sam's point.

Just take the cash. I would then get rid of the car and find another chassis.

Thats what I mean, I am looking for justice on the 'parking prang incident' .. but to do so I have to follow the rules abit and go through the motions etc

Especially when he gave the witness such attitude and proceeded to fuck off as if nothing happened

Wouldn't you want justice if someone scraped the whole side of your car?

Few hundred £££ would be closure.. will ask his insurance company to suggest a direct negotiation as first port of call.

This is in regards to the parking scrape incident back in June, although cause of the recent accident where the rear end was reshaped I have to overlook both in a overlaping manor sorry for confusion caused. Think about it from my point of view its gone on for months.. and still no closure.

Though the end is nie

Oh sorry no you miss understand me. What I meant to say was, oh right so this last set of posts is pointless because you've decided anyway?

Justice in one way or another sure, but Im still not 100% sure on the process' like hally mentioned a valid point. More-so im not 100% on how to actualize justice in the best form just yet.

But I take heed in sams comment, take the money and run. Doing so would be to negotiate a figure directly with the other party involved. But if he isnt willing to play ball.. then Ill be forced to take things further to get justice :frown:

Finally concluded the journey of this members ride thread, I got everything I wanted off the car and got paid to have it taken of my driveway quite pleased :cowboy:
