Guys just a little advice required ? Waiting for my Jperformance manifold and down pipe to arrive . My question is as my cat converter is in the down pipe is it ok drive without the cat in place ? Mot not due till next April so in no hurry to buy a sportscat ! It's a silly question but am not too sure ! Im sure that you can ?

Your EML will come on but if that doesn't bother you then you should be ok to drive the car till you get a sports cat. I'm not 100% sure if the car will go into limp mode etc due to the EML as mine didn't (I did install an o2 sensor spacer to see if I could get away without the cat, but I sorted a sports cat out within a month and had been resetting the EML whenever it came on.

I'll dig out the link to the magnaflow sports cat (200 cell) I fitted as it wasn't very expensive and has done a great job since install.

If it isnt too expensive id be all over a sports cat! :D
 
Started work on the new custom centre console ! Ready for the new installs ....Double din pioneer dvd player and Also the gauges for the engine upgrade ....

Top half is from the phase 2 and the bottom is from the phase 1 .
 
Nige, looks very promising and very similar to a plan I was looking into early in the year to provide a double din for a headunit. I never followed through as I changed headunit and didn't need to make the additional space again. Would be ideal for a screen for a carputer etc... ;)

patience is the key extreme ! i used a stanley knife and worked round the edges ! its plastic bonded so you try to force and it cracks ! which happened on my first attempt !:poop:

How did you manage to paint the red surround on the cover, did you paint the inside or the outside?
 
look forward to seeing how this progresses, as its looking more and more likely i'm going to have to go this route also as my search for a ph1 pop up screen cowling is getting nowhere :(
 
Cheers guys ! Just awaiting some plastic filler for the next phase ! Will keep posting on progress !

Just as a matter of interest what are your collective thoughts on either keeping this as a two piece trim or going the whole Hogg and making it a one piece ?

Alrite bud ! Yes painted on the outside ! Mask with fine line tape ! Scuff the red part of the plastic ! Then prime and paint !
Simples !!!!!!!
 
ah ok cheers mate, really looks good i must say. Thinking of maybe transferring it to my mera all credit to you though :D
 
Kris ! If you have a look at some of my other posts you'll see that I'd also done the lamps in silver ! If your thinking of going down that route !
