Ill probably be offering a service on full turbo conversions when this is finished.. Ive got a Price in mind, and ive all the tools and fittings to do this several times over now..

See how it behaves on the Dyno first tho.. and obviously a bhp figure..
 
Well its all done and dusted.. Been driving round in my boosted GTI this evening..

In for mapping on wednesday.. Had to delay it from last thurs as i was waiting in on a few parts to be delivered..

The power delivery is smooth but quite brutal.. Im expecting well above 200Bhp.. on the initial low boost setting.. With a huge increase in torque to match..

Congrats mate, good to hear, are you using standard management at the moment?
Also are you on standard internals?

Thats great Kristian, but watch it on the bends and roundabouts, when it rains. Let us know how you get on. It will defiantly tell you if your tyres are any good.
 
Ive driven many turbo'd FWD jap cars..

Even built a few of my own, Including a fully stripped out 150 bhp 1300cc Turbo micra.. THAT was fun..!!

So yea.. the handling thing i can handle.. ( 'scuse the pun )

Got a load of pictures of that on the Micra sports club of that car....

This is aimed at being a much 'nicer' drive.. no stripping out here..

The exhaust is a full 2.5'' decatted system with 3 silencers, so very quiet off boost with only a subtle deep growl up the rev range on boost.. ..

However the Dumpvalve is loud which I like .. and its currently spitting flames with the fueling the way it is.. Soon to be sorted..

The managment is currently an apexi SAFC Neo.. ( before you guys bite my head off, ive performed turbo conversions with this before and had blistering results.. low boost.. up to 10psi ish )

Also the internals are standard atm..

Ive built everything on the car for big power so its only the managment/internals which are the weak point

However Ive got a Cometic MLS Headgasket and some ARP headstuds on order.. also looking at an Emanage for when I up the boost..

Looking hopefully for around 250/280 ultra reliable.. I want to do the 'ring' and some track days in this...

Ill get a full spec list up When ive got the RR printout..

I do work in modifying and tuning..

I focus mosltly on complete conversions inc the bodywork side of things.... im leaning away from small things now really..

I can give you all the advice I can, or you could book your car in for a complete conversion lol..
 
Well I want to do as much as I can myself really, its mainly the drilling side of things I'd be scared to mess up my block lol..

Please excuse the fact that this is a WIP and isn't dressed yet.. only needed to be sufficent to get on the rollors..

I wanted this as soon as possible to check that the turbo/piggyback/injectors/FPR etc are all working fully.

Well was mapped today..

Low boost for the next 8 weeks or so, while everything else is finished off.. Mostly dressing things..

New cam cover, Finish front bumper, Square reg plate, The new dials, engine bay/vacume lines need tidying up etc..and some electrics sorting...

New alloys and coilovers to also be fitted,

Then respraying the bonnet and front bumper, to make look good as new..



Once im happy, it will be getting a fuel pump, Emanage and new HG & Studs..

Boost will be dialled up and I should be motoring with abot 250/260 on a safe map

thats the plan.. However getting a spare minute with my other projects is difficult!..

However it pulls really well now..

Torque is right up at:

210Lb-Ft

Bhp is also good at:

205.4 Bhp

( should be around 215/220 but drops off righ at the top, around 6k due to retarding the ignition as a safety measure, as its also on 95 Ron fuel and today was very warm.. )

Its going to drink optimax '101' unleaded now, for the next few weeks, then ill dial the inition timing back to standard which should see the return of the very top end.. giving me around 215/220


Its a lot of fun.. and great to have my car back on the road..
 
awesome, although its going to look like i'm copying you from now on as you've done pretty much everything i planned to do.

What cams you running?
 
All figures at the Fly..

Cams are standard.. the Kent cams I had are now in another SR20 waiting to be fitted into a micra..

Please bear in mind This is at only 6ish psi of boost, to get everythign set-up around...

Im expecting to run 0.9 bar, ( 10/12 psi ) ultimatly..

Making it a reliable but 260+ bhp daily driver..
