you really shouldn't have... its had a hard life since you let it go...
Going to change the oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filters today along with new sump plug and washer.
One question though, I can't remember how much oil it holds. For some reason 3.4 or 4.3 litres sticks in my mind??
Get it washed and maybe, just maybe start to properly machine polish it. One panel at a time. Slowly slowly catch the monkey and all...
remember to take some pics
3.7 i thought it was
3.4 with filter
Yeah I'll try and get some pics. I really want to throw some money at it this year, but can't bring myself to do it. So want it lower!!
ive got close to no mods at all but lowering spring ARE a must at least i feel. as above 3.4lts, i do 3 then adjust accordingly
Looks like i may have to start looking into them David!
Well I got some work done today;
I started washing it, only to be interrupted to say that i need to go and meet my brother (bushell) to use his ramps etc.
So had to get cracking on the service, which was only oil, oil filter, pollen and air filter. Spark plugs were done last service which was 8k miles ago. (can't believe I've done so many miles since i got it!) But I aim to try and do the oil after 3/4 k miles next time. Also the fuel filter as i never got round to getting one.
The bastard wind picked up as soon as we took the sump plug off. Then as the last of the oil was draining I went to clear up the mess and the wind changed direction!
I then went back home and started on the interior seen as machine polishing was out of the question with the wind picking up.
Then after getting some love back for the almera i decided to tidy her arse up a bit.
So mainly for my own mind and nice to have a wee record on here:
89999 miles - oil, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter
98000 miles - oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter
You have no idea how much I am regretting selling my manifold to Ross & Rick, damn I want it back!!!!
Got a few plans for her now, first thing is the body shop to get rid of the stone chips and tidy her up a bit!
looking great as ever matt, and yes you are a muppet for selling that header
I gotta manifold
I should be banned for it, you've no idea how gutted I am. Never mind
Always good to get some love back in the old girl mate looks sweet and runs way better than Richie's
I like the difference the punto wiper makes, it's been sitting here for ages too!
that really doesn't look like you at all in the pic with the oil lol!
we will have to catch up again and i'll take you out and you'll be wanting poly bushes as much as you want a manifold lol
Yeah, I think I'm going to go down the restoration and upgrade route. Starting with paint work. Then bushes etc I think. Get your. Arse down then lol
get.your.arse.up.here.for.a.change lol. just messing, I'm sure I'll be down soon enough
I've got those pads for you remember
lovely work ol boy, i like how our GTi's drive after a service. i do like the punto wiper mod, however i do like the aero flat wipers all round look too. . .
Yeah, i forgot about them, I'll get some QD made up too.
Yeah so do I on both accounts. I'll wait till the old ones need replacing or i get a new windscreen.
the punto wiper looks better still when its led down along the bottom
