Is that half way to Portsmouth? Naah, close enough :D

So, bit of an update. Just got back from my buddy's garage to get the braided brake lines fitted and to get the car undersealed, all went very smoothly.

Rears before,

Rears after,

And fronts after,

We then replaced the brake fluid and bled the whole system with this weird special machine. Couple mins later and we were done!

Then onto the undersealing. Didn't bother doing the entire car, but only the bits that really counted. Was also very pleased to find the car in such good condition underneath with only surface rust in the usual spots. Both sill's look very straight and there was nothing else to report on which I'm happy about :)

Inspected the front & rear pads & discs and the rear discs & pads defiantly need replacing any day now so they're now on order. I've also still got a small exhaust leak which we found out to be coming from Manifold > Downpipe gasket, so I'll be ordering one of those gaskets soon as well.

Drove the car back, now braking feels a lot sharper and I feel more confident with the brakes for sure. Looking forward to getting the new rear discs & pads on too as I think that'll improve it even further :)

Good work :thumb: Refreshing to have someone else post nice clear pictures too

Bit more progress today, went more smoothly than I thought it would, again with huge help & ramps from my buddy.
Anyway, rear discs & pads were reeeeeeeally in need of replacing, so we got on and did those first,

Think I got my monies worth? haha.

Both rear calipers were a little sticky/seized, so we whipped them both off and free'd them up after some persuasion. Re-fitted within a few minutes, re-bled the brakes once again and all was great!
The other thing I wanted sorting was the exhaust blow. I wasn't entirely sure where it was coming from, but I bought a couple of 2" 2-hole gaskets for the backbox & one for the mani > downpipe gakset too from eBay.
Got the mani > downpipe gasket off to find it looking pretty bad! Think that was the main issue I had haha

Couple of mins later new gasket was in and we put new nuts & bolts in for good measure :)

We then got chatting and I spotted a bit of pipe lying in the corner. Wondered if this would fit over the stock tailpipe. Sure enough perfect fit haha, and after a bit of fun... (don't hate me hahahaha)

We hacked off the end of the pipe,

And fitted it,

Car runs better than ever now, really nice & quiet with no blowing from the exhaust at all. Got a little rasp about it thanks to the aftermarket manifold & downpipe which is nice, and the induction roar is way more noticeable, pretty funny! Oh, and of course brakes are now pin-sharp :)

Well my first ever "mod" update, albeit the smallest ever? Had an idea of having the side indicators light up with sidelights & headlights. The obvious way by having a twin-element bulb as used for brake lights, but since the orange lens inside has been removed (de-globed) for the clear-look, then I had to come up with another way.
Drilling a small hole in the back of the light units seemed an easy route, using a 501 bulb & bulb holder. I've done this before on other cars/lights, so it was no real hassle.

After drilling,

And then bulb holder fitted,

Luckily it just fits when the light is back in place, only just lol! I couldn't face doing any wiring at 9pm in the rain/cold/dark, so that'll have to wait till another day, but that's the easy part :)
Should look great when its done, I think.

Got it done tonight, took about 20 mins to wire up. Not the best photos ever this time, camera was playing up a bit.
Removed the normal sidelight bulbs, but I'll probably refit them tbh. Didn't get photos of all 4 sidelights on,

And with normal headlights on

Pleased with that, looks loads better at night. Still all clear lens's when they're not illuminated as well :)

Some progress today, removed the Ph2 surround and fitted the square plate along with the Ph1 panel above. I'm not entirely 100% sure if it looks good/better at the moment, but its like this for now and perhaps it'll look better when lower!
I'm also still hunting for those little import plate hangers, which I think will finish it off a bit better.

Got all sidelights working now (all 4), and got a pic.

And then a bit of a last-minute thought but I changed the steering wheel. I've already bought another steering wheel off eBay but its about a 4-week wait until it arrives. Because I'm inpatient I took the one off my s13 and fitted it to the Almera today. Its a 3-spoke King wheel, non-suede since suede wheels don't last 5mins unless you're wearing gloves! Oh, and its not one of those cheap Nardi copies either, this thing is built well and doesn't bend :)
