Persuaded myself I needed coilovers for this car and finally bit the bullet. Eddie (on the AOC) come to my help saying that he had a set of BC Racing coilovers for sale which were in pretty good condition, albeit one corner was very slightly worn a bit but hopefully wouldn't really affect my "daily" driving.
Anyway, he's local to me so a 30min drive and I arrived and we cracked on with doing the rear's first at about 9am.
By about 11am both rears were done, we lowered it off the axle stands and went for a quick drive. Car felt good even on the coilovers softest settings, much better.
Got back and go on with the fronts. These went smoothly as well and I zinc primer'd as I went on the inner strut's on both the rear and fronts. Couple hours later and they were also done, all bolts greased up and torqued.
Drove home happy as larry, chuffed with how the car handles and looks now. I stiffened up the shocks a little and it feels so planted now, even if I'm not going round corners, just on the motorway it feels much more confident.
Think I'm going to tweak the ride-height a bit. After a couple of days of getting used to it and driving my local area I will get a feel for how much clearance I still have left. I think I could safely do about 20-25mm more on the back, and maybe 10-15mm front. But that'll come later
