converted my spare sr18de engine loom to take my sr20.5 turbo engine,
Things i had to do,
1, MAF sensor - extend,
2, Injector loom harness/idle control valve (ICV) connectors x2,
i cut the injector harness off the sr20 loom, which incorporates the ICV,
i cut off the existing sr18 injector loom, and connected the 5 wires from the sr20 harness to the sr18 loom, then leaving 4 wires left, these are the 4 (2 x 2) wires for the 2 ICV connectors, one brown (brown + black wires) and one purple (yellow + blue/red stripe).
Problem the 2 ICV connectors are both on the secondary engine loom.
The brown ICV connector is easy as it was cut from the sr18 secondary enigne loom, and connected onto the 2 wires (brown + black) from the sr20 injector/ICV harness.
But the second purple one i couldnt find, so i went and had a look at my pulsar engine, and i realised why!
There is a big connector (resembling a rad fan connector) which connnects to a second piece of wire about 3 inches long (which then has a purple connecor on the sr18 ICV,
i dont need this)
As both my sr20 ICV's are on the injector harness,
The purple connector wiring does nt go directly to the ecu via the engine loom!!
The connector has a yellow and blue/red stripe wires, these change to a black and blue/red strip at the next connector 3 inches up.
BUT unlike the sr20 loom where both the purple connectors wires go straight into the ecu, these done, only the black one goes into the ecu via the main primary-secondary loom, and the blue/red stripe wire goes up into the secondary loom and into the bulk head on the drivers side!
SO, all ive done is extended the wire fromt the sr20 purple ICV conncetor with some spade connectors and will just plug into the sr18's second connector,
3. plenum earths - extended.
4. TPS - extened.
